About I had posted this in a collage of various ages a while back but quickly removed it….
Decided to repost a single image being inspired by Pat Fruen with her recent ‘4’ image…so clever!
This has been a tradition of ours since we were kids, though my dad only shot us on birthdays with the sign (and we were clothed!!). I tried for weekly shots … only making it to week 48 with my youngest…he began walking at 9 months and it was impossible to keep him down any longer! Here he is at 16 weeks…don’t know where all that time went! He’ll be 2 in a few weeks :(

Beautiful shot Janet - what a cute little boy! :)

Look on the bright side, though - after 2 things start to get really interesting, don't they? Hearing what a little person thinks of the world around him is fascinating. Even though it makes capturing natural shots a little harder because they pose at every opportunity. ;)

Dina Marie   {K:9657} 1/5/2006
what a beautiful tradition. It's all about expression here!

Mervo     {K:8340} 1/5/2006
Cute Janet, I like this in B+W, you caught a nice smile and the little sign is a good idea, I'm sure he'll hate you for this photograph when he's 18 and you show his friends :P

Charo Diez   {K:39} 1/5/2006

This is adorable and a great idea. I do something similiar with my kids on the first day of school. they all hold signs that say their name, grade, and the date. I love to see their changes as each year progresses. A friend of mine does it too but she has them stand in front of the same tree each time and you see them grow bigger and bigger with the tree. Wish I had done that but we always did it sitting around the table.

This is just wonderful! I love his expression and the perspective you shot from. The contrasty lighting makes this fun and even more original with the way it highlights the texture in the blanket. Very appealing and creative shot. :)

Kanwarpreet Singh   {K:1878} 1/6/2006
He's such a cutie! Great pic. & great date to capture it.. it's my Birth date.. :) 1982.

ps- Janet, I've noticed one thing here at UF. You can browse thro. endless images here, but you always have these favorite photographers. & eventually you'll end up commenting on their images only. A few pics here & there.. but you'll always return on the same pages a lot. Your's is one of them! & your's is a special one, coz your not raising your kids alone. they are getting a lot of love from all of us here. :)

Regards.

An adorable baby and such a happy smile. I love the sign idea. It's a very novel tradition. Lovely tones. Keep it going Janet as they grow up so fast. These photos will be lovely to look back on. Great work.

Cheers - Ann :)

Absolutely adorable sweetie. You have such a wonderful collection of shots that your family will appreciate as time goes on. Young John looks as if he was a very happy little baby and that is a glorious laugh you have caught in these beautiful mono tones you do so very well. All the best Janet.....Ray

Janet B   {K:16139} 1/9/2006
Thank you, Ray, for your sweet words...he definitely was the happiest baby and smiled ALL the time! He turned slightly evil now, but still managable!
Hugs!

Fianally a name for one of your lovely Js, dear Janet. He looks so happy & I love the idea of this chronicle. No wonder he would not stay still later...I'm sure when he grows up he won't be afraid of heights (lol)
Thank you so much for your kind comment on my photo.
Have a good day too,
Rafi
