I think Dingos were fine hunters in the past. Today, they spend a lot of time scavenging, and have even become a nuisance and danger to people who think they're the same as domesticated dogs. Thanks for your comment, Don. I'm glad you like the photo.

Thank you so much, Ina. I'm glad you like it. Apparently, the dingoes of Fraser Island are most like the original Australian dingoes of any in the country. This one was sure a beaut!
Best,
Steve

Thanks, Klaus. I think he was intent on the garbage of some campers nearby.

Soon as I saw the dingo in the thumbnail, I knew it had to be Fraser... Fond memories of taking the 4WD over on long weekends and holidays. Waking up in the middle of the night - to the sound of dingoes fighting over leftovers carelessly discarded - scared witless! Not sure if they still allow private off-road vehicles to cruise the beaches anymore, as it's many years since I've been. But what I'd give to get back there...

Great capture Steve. Surely you took more of Fraser than just the dingo???? :))

Cheers
Rina.

Oh boy, how I'd love to go back, too, Rina. We took a tour from Brisbane for one overnight. I was bowled over by the island. So different from anywhere I've been. The dingoes were on the beach on our way back to Brisbane. We were in a 4WD and there were many others on the beaches and roads of the island. Since it's the only way, other than walking, to see the island, I don't see them disallowing vehicles any time soon.
As far as other pictures goes, I have a bunch. The only problem is that the sky was a very bright grey the whole time and the pictures, while they mean a lot to me, don't do the island any justice at all, except for the dingo and the rusted ship on the beach that I just uploaded.
Sorry. But thanks for kind comment.
Best regards,
Steve
