Hi Robert, Very stong image. I think the B&W, with the rather sullen contrast creates a very strong mood. Compared to the colour version, I think this one is considerably stronger, mainly because of the atmosphere the lack of colour adds. Very strong image. Even if it's a very quick B&W version, I think its just about right; good (effective) postprocessing...;)

Very powerful shot. I much prefer this one to the colour version, it has adarker, more somber feel to it. I wonder if this photo is a bit of a preminition?

It's amazing that after shooting 2 rolls of film that morning that the one shot I really like is a grab shot just as I was packing up.

This image reaches me at several different levels. There are so many contrasts... the B&W contrast is generally subdued, but picks out the boy very nicely. The perspective leads the eye through the center to the far distance, but the boy is cutting across that at right angles. Then the graveyard speaks of death and the past but the boy is obviously on the threshold of life. One is silent and still, the other is moving fast. This goes into my favourites so I can look at it some more--and think about it.

Wonderful.. this looks like an old part of the cemetry.. and intact ..there are lot in ours that have fallen apart dating from late 1800..I was worried about intruding with my camera but seeing this young man i need not of worried ha ha.best wishes nessa

Yes this is an old area of the cemetry, early 1800s. Many of the headstones look virtually new but there are some graves that have caved in as the earth under has settled. Walking around some areas you get the feeling of sinking into the earth as the grass is very thick and soft.
Many people were even jogging through this cemetry and the caretakers did not seem concerned that I was walking around with tripod and camera gear.
