About Well, they are sort of wild...or at least I reclaimed them from the wild at our family pond. :o)

This was taken right after a good rain.

Rain, rain go away! Let's see...we've had rain for 25 days straight in the Pacific Northwest. Enough! We'd like to send some to Texas! :o)

Let's see...if I hurry I can be the first to comment! I like this, and I do think that they are wild roses! I like the background alot, and this frame works very well for this one! Good job!
Kathy

Great colors and very moody. Looks good soaking wet :) But hope it stops for you!!
We have just broken the record for cloudy days straight...and finally some sun :) and even temps in the 50's! Strange weather everywhere!

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 1/12/2006
Beautiful effect of the rain, Susie, regardless of how much you've had! I heard on the news that you had something like 6 hours of sunshine in the last three weeks, wow! That's very little, but the plants seem to be doing well. Beautiful colors and DOF - great framing! Best regards, Ina

Nice shot, Susie. Way to find the shot in the rain. I remember the rain...3 weeks of rain...15 minutes sunshine...3 more weeks of rain...
I don't miss it!

We have some wild roses too. The hips make for some good shots also...and are high in vitamin C!

Kelly Duntley   {K:13055} 1/12/2006
Oh my gosh, I heard that you did have lots of rain on the news today. You are probably growing webbed feet as I sit here and write.

A girl after my own heart. I love florals. Beautiful bright colors and raindrops. The framing also looks very well on this photo. Nice that you could find something so bright in all that drearyness. Hope the weather dries up soon.
Kelly

I will trade you some wind for some rain.... :) What wonderful roses.....we won't see those for 4 more months..... Thanks for sharing! Pat

I hear you Susie. All this rain is really depressing. day after day, week after week, month after month. We practically live on an island here in Oregon. Oh well better to have too much than not enough I suppose.

These delicate floers seem to be on their last legs but there's enough life in them foryou to capture this nice photo. I love the colours here and the framing is beautiful. The lovely DOF makes it appear that the rose inthe background is a mirror iamge of the one on the foreground. Beautiful work Susie. I will pray for some sunshine as I'm solar powered. :)

Cheers - Ann :)

Gorgeous shot, Susie!
This is a great time to go out with a camera (assuming the rain has indeed stopped).
Love the rich, saturated colors, along with the fresh rain drops.

Excellent!

Best regards,
Bob

Just saw the other day on the news about the amount of rain Washington State has had. 25 days now. I believe the record is 33 days straight.

Send the clouds down to Southern California. I love the rain.

I really like the colors in this photo. I like how you have the two images of the roses in the photo vs. one that most of us focus on when taking a photo of flowers.

I'm guessing those are real rain drops vs. the water some people spray on flowers to creat an image like this.

Again the colors (green, red/pink, and browns) look great.

I like the effect of the frame you have chosen it truly makes the photo really stand out.

Great job. 7+!

Markus Scholz   {K:22839} 1/13/2006
Lovely shot, Susie, which would well stand also without the frame. I remember the rain in Seattle very well. It was the place where I bought the only umbrella of my life. I still have it;)

Regards, Markus

This a beautiful capture Susie. Looks like a postcard for Seattle :) The colors are great and really brings out the wetness of the surroundings.

Here in mid west too, we saw 17 successive days without sunshine (a record for Milwaukee i Guess) last month. After with some serious prayers (from me ofcourse) we got some this week and we experienced a temp of 46 y'day. A welcome change. :)

Looks like it's gonna snow today :(

I hope it will stop raining in WA and you get to spend the weekend outside.

Robin Wickenkamp   {K:16437} 1/13/2006
Gorgeous color Susie! There is nothing like this around here...everything is gray or brown :( Even the snow is gone. Love the DOF and the frame you chose. Thanks for the bit of much needed color!
Robin

Marvelous roses, perfect the DOF and beautiful the colors and the detail of the pluvius drops.
The rainy time is surely sad but at least it allows to make this splendid photo :)

ciao

Hi Susie,
I heard that on the news today about Vancouver too! 25 days in a row of rain!
We are getting spring like weather here in Toronto when we are used to -20C.
About the image... Shows you how much I know about flowers. I just found out this fall, when in Cape Cod that those bushes with the big red berry like things on them are actually wild roses minus the petals :)
Andre

Dave Stacey   {K:120344} 1/13/2006
Exclellent capture of these two roses, Susie! I like the way on almost mirrors the other, a very pleasing composition, along with the details and rain drops.
Thanks for your very kind comments, too!
Dave.

I agree with you Susie, here, we don't have snow, but rain too. Very bad for winter time :(
But your pic still a sun for us

Bruce Harper   {K:5305} 1/14/2006
The rain might be getting depressing for you, but it looks as if you are creating your own sunshine! This is very nice. I agree with Ann that it gives the impression of a mirror reflection.

Rashed Abdulla   {K:154808} 1/15/2006
