Very nice dof and colors! Nice work!

Ann Nida   {K:45230} 1/15/2006
Soft, warm and delicate are the words that come to mind when I view this image Janet. A real change from your usual brilliant and entertaining children images. This is lovely and almost tells the story of the last few leaf friends who hung in there (pardon the pun). Unless I'm mistaken it looks like they may even be around to see those new buds springing to life. The nice soft background compliments the leaves beautifully. Good capture Janet. Very nice.

Cheers - Ann :)

Simple and dramatic. A beauty, Janet.
Tim

Janet B   {K:16139} 1/15/2006
Thanks so much, Ann, I almost named it 'the Dance' but thought maybe that was too corny?! They looked like the stars of the ball with everyone else looking on :)

Rina     {K:26519} 1/15/2006
Oh so nice... magical colour... soft delicate focus... perfect composition. Well done dear lady.

Hope all is well with you and the little guy.
Take care.
Rina

Beautiful!

Dina Marie   {K:9657} 1/15/2006
absolutely stunning!! this should be on a canvas HUGE.

Kathy Hillard   {K:25721} 1/15/2006
This is really different for you, Janet! Great shot, with very nice tones, and great dof! Well composed, too, with the two focused leaves at the very top. Good job!
Kathy

Ann Nida   {K:45230} 1/15/2006
Janet that title would not have been too corny at all. Geeze...some of the stuff I've seen in here makes the mind boggle. Dance would have been great. Never be afraid to go with your gut. Your first decision is always your best decision. (this coming from a most indecisive person though...or at least I think I am) ;)

Cheers - Ann :)

Susie OConnor   {K:34798} 1/15/2006
I love it Janet. Very nice colors and the composition is first rate. Soft and lovely, almost misty feeling. Truly an autumn classic.

Chris.

Lynne Stacey   {K:649} 1/16/2006
I must be in a sentimental mood, but the two leaves sticking together is so symbolic to me. Kind of like till death do us part, probably too deep 'huh? Gorgeous tones and I love the horizontal limps adding even more interest to this photo, you do wonderful work!

Kenneth Roine   {K:3502} 1/16/2006
Nice composition and great use of DOF and subtle colors.
Ken

Looks very beautiful my dear Janet. I love these shots that show leaves hanging tenaciously to the branches. Gorgeous delicate colours, great details and a perfect dof in this wonderful composition and presentation. Well spotted and taken sweetie. Best wishes,'see' you soon...Ray

Laura Spell   {K:24080} 1/16/2006
This is very good. I like the selective DOF. The soft light is soothing to view. Good details on the leaves.

Riny Koopman   {K:59885} 1/16/2006

Tony Smallman   {K:15803} 1/16/2006
Softened and sharpened in all the right places I like this photo very much! There's a sort of gentle intimacy between the 2 leaves that is most agreable.I would have titled it Old Friends-they've been hanging around there for some time:)

Regards,Tony
I've just looked at the other comments and found that Ann's reaction was identical to mine!

Simply WOW Janet, so sweet and sensetive, well done, amazing DOF, i like how the branches change into the photo from blurrred to clear and so on, wonderfull soft feeling, due to fog i guess? very nice too look at, to my favs. this must win something for sure.

Damion Hamilton   {K:1023} 1/22/2006
Janet,
I like the title to this one. Great extreme shallow DOF. Obviously wide open I presume. Color is fantastic, composition makes this one for sure a looker. Great job. Nice to see you stepping out in to other things again. Need to do that more myself again. Bought a Canon 1d Mark II N about a week ago....was so excited to learn this new camera.....it never turned on!!! Right out of the box...never worked!! Should see the camera this Tuesday again after repair.
Regards,
Damion

Janet B   {K:16139} 1/24/2006
Oh my gosh, Damion, I sure hope that you get things ironed out with your new camera...and how exciting!! That is one fantastic beast from what I read! Congratulations and can't wait to see you posting images with it :)
I do try to take photos often of other things besides the kids...though, yes, lately I haven't posted many! I didn't get many of them this last month with all the sickness...so this has made me post a few without them :) It's nice to 'keep fresh' with all subjects! By the way, this was shot at f2.8 and as close as I could get to keep focus...I get so lazy about filling all the info out!
