About Flying home to California on Christmas Day 2005, over Utah. This was my view facing North out of the plane window. The clouds broke for just a few minutes, and this what broke though. Sunsets from the sky are amazing.

Beautiful and tranquil scene!

Can't take credit for the scene... time and altitude did that. I was just there...bored on a corss country flight with a new camera, and tired of taking pictures of the wing. Thank you for the comment!

Fantastic scale (quite on the other end of the scale from your penny macro!). It's rare to see moutains from this distant perspective since the horizon normally intrudes from ground shots. Many shots from airplanes are hum drum, but the capture of scale and dimension here makes it special. Very nice.

Thank you again Mark for your kind comments! I agree, that most images from airline windows tend to be bland. What I attribute this to, was that I was flying on Xmas day, but the real reason... it was seriously cold, and that can sometimes aid in seeing clearer depth at altitude.

best,
-Joel
