About I played around with the cropping a lot on this image, and liked the results of this one the best. Any comments would help tremendously.

So helpful when someone gives a low rating and then doesn't bother to comment, isn't it? I'll try to be more helpful. Nice dog and nice background, and I like the composition, too. The reflection from the eye is a bit of a problem, though, and the focus looks rather soft (and maybe over-sharpened after).

Thanks Mark - it is rather more helpful when someone takes the time to comment :-) I'll try and work on that focus.

Kathryn:
I think one problem my eyes had with this photo is the background. It seems a little dark for the dark puppy. He doesn't seem to show up as well as I think he could. I like the way he is set in the frame, however and I think he is such a cute dog. I just think a lighter background might bring him out a little more.
