Janette... the same fantastic photo. I don't know why your thumbnail are so blurry. What is in kb the original size of the photo??

Janet B   {K:16139} 1/18/2006
Yes, very surreal...love that curve and the reflective qualities & gorgeous sky.
Can see a bunch of lights on :) cool!

Paolo Corradini   {K:51796} 1/18/2006
beautiful architecture here..with a sunny day it would be perfect! :)

Danny Brannigan   {K:16246} 1/18/2006
No but i thought it was blurry and that you had been adding a sky.
You have found an interesting building here and and made this very exciting image. Great perspective and great depth of focus together with a great mind.

Simone Tagliaferri   {K:28180} 1/18/2006
Bel taglio per una bella foto. complimenti.

Niclas Mäkelä   {K:4879} 1/18/2006
Wow great sky and an interesting almost futuristic building to along with it.. what is this, the year 2030 ;) Great find, and really cool "hightech" looking colors.
-Niclas

Hugo de Wolf   {K:184981} 1/18/2006
Hi Jeanette, very strong composition, creating a powerful image with the geometry. Especially the curved line rocks! Awesome sky, too, is that genuine?

Cheers,

Hugo

Jeanette Hägglund   {K:59985} 1/18/2006
Danny - thanks for your honest opinion. The sky is not added though, just darkend a little.

Jeanette

Jeanette Hägglund   {K:59985} 1/18/2006
Yeah - then i have something to long for ;-))

Jeanette

Jeanette Hägglund   {K:59985} 1/18/2006
HI Hugo, yes the sky is the original one and not added, but i made dodged a little to "frame" the building better.

Jeanett

Jeanette Hägglund   {K:59985} 1/18/2006
Niclas, i agree with you about the futuristic look and the building is amazing in all sense. I got really fascinated and made many shots, many that will never be posted of course :)

Jeanette

Markus Scholz   {K:22812} 1/18/2006
Have you been to an eye-doctor recently, Jeanette, lol;) No, I think the blurryness of this one is an optical illusion, derived by the blurry sky. But the real thing isn't blurry at all. Beautiful image.

Markus

Jeanette Hägglund   {K:59985} 1/18/2006
Oh no Markus - i don´t mean when you have open it up, but when looking at the thumbnail it looks blurry, that disappear when you see the large image!

jeanette

Markus Scholz   {K:22812} 1/18/2006
That's exactly what I was meaning, Jeanette. Sorry for my English. If it's small then the blurry sky is somehow influencing the rest of the picture, an effect which disappears when you look at it in full size.

Markus

Galal El Missary   {K:84194} 1/18/2006
Great composition & prespective , well done Jeanette .

Galal

Jeanette Hägglund   {K:59985} 1/18/2006
Ohi shall take a look of that, maby i post my shot little too big and uf resize it and i don´t choose sharpening (unsharp mask) when posting. Maby the reason is there??

Jeanette

Jeanette Hägglund   {K:59985} 1/18/2006
Thanks Roby
K&H,
Jeanette

Thilo Bayer   {K:50301} 1/18/2006
Hi Jeanette,

great architecture abstract with soft middle tones. blurry? I'm not sure if this really looks blurry.

best wishes,
Thilo

jude .   {K:14625} 1/18/2006
Another gorgeous abstract, Jeanette...just superb imagery, as always.

Re the thumb, the only thing I can think is that the resizing may have skewed the pixels slightly. It doesn't take much when the image is so small.

Another possibility is that the contrast between the building and sky is not strong...while the subtle contrast works perfectly in the larger image, much of the definition is lost in the smaller as edges become less defined with lost data.

Gorilla  K   {K:17526} 1/18/2006
...beautiful architecture and perspective Jeanette!!!

best regards,
Winfried

Baha Sadri   {K:15057} 1/18/2006
"Another perfection by you!"

And some thing else:

I don't think you should worry about the blur business,Jeanette
it can't take much away from the perfection of your works, besides viewers mainly click on your thumb nails because your name is under them!
cheers,
baha

Joggie van Staden   {K:41275} 1/18/2006
Bold and beautiful - excellent work Jeanette! 7/7

Jeanette Hägglund   {K:59985} 1/18/2006
I´m happy you like it!

jeanette

Bradley Prue   {K:30312} 1/18/2006
I thought it was blurry because of my Jack Daniels & Coke. However I must say.... even a guy throwin back a Jack & Coke can tell an awesome shot when he sees one. You continue to set the mark for geometric shapes, patterns, and spatial elements, in general... Your work, Jeanette, is the stuff of textbooks!
...Brad

Ninni Termine   {K:8961} 1/18/2006
The perfect point of view show up the contrast between the curved wall and the right edge of this unbelievable building. Paris is an exceptional source of inspiration, that I love a lot also!

Ciao
Ninni

Jeanette Hägglund   {K:59985} 1/18/2006
Do you recognize this building?

jeanette

Derek Dixon   {K:4948} 1/18/2006
exellent image!
love the prespective.
As for the blurry thumb... well we could do some experimentation.
post the same iamge 3 times, one with a bit of sharpening and other with really high quality jpeg compresion (11 or 12), but always making sure it doesn't go over 400k (photoshop says 370k i think, but the real size then is 400k, don't ask me why, just noticed)

Kathy Hillard   {K:25721} 1/19/2006
Interesting building Jeanette! Well captured!
I've been wondering about the blurry thumbnail issue myself. In the past I rarely looked at any image in the large size, but now, if an image doesn't look totally focused I open it to large, and many times it is very clear. That seems very odd to me! Maybe an issue that is still being worked out. The site is SO IMPROVED in my estimation that I don't mind overlooking a few things!
Kathy

karen clarke   {K:18847} 1/19/2006
The first thing in my mind was Prudential and the massive rock that is their logo. Great shot~

Bob Walker   {K:1066} 1/19/2006
This is incredible, Jeanette!
Another fascinating image - great lighting and reflections.

Bob

Jeanette Hägglund   {K:59985} 1/19/2006
Dered, i will try thay, later today! Good idea, cause i really want to understand this....

Jeanette

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 1/19/2006
Amazing architectural perspective, Jeanette! Great curve and I like the inclusion of the smaller building with the darker shade and reflections - perfect balance and composition, very monumental! Best regards, Ina

safak tortu   {K:2896} 1/19/2006
Very nice shot...Good colours...
Congrats...

naftali raz   {K:1723} 1/19/2006
a really good one! an intgeresting balance with the toothy line on the right.

Giulio Rotelli   {K:28400} 1/19/2006

Rashed Abdulla   {K:154604} 1/19/2006
great composition and from very great angel , wonderful details and expouser ,an image worth viewing by all means , all of the best my friend ..

r u t h  d r io   {K:4227} 1/19/2006
ahi esta, el ojo arquitectónico abstracto que tienes tan desarrolado, querida Jeanette!! excelente!!

Aram Gharib   {K:4122} 1/19/2006
Nice capture and good idea to blur the sky: it emphasizes the contrast with the building's right-angled shapes. Beautiful and surreal indeed.

Mark Hamilton   {K:8384} 1/19/2006
Great dynamics Jeanette. I love the glass, steel and blue sky.
Kind of clinical.

Mark

Ivan Di Pietro   {K:1226} 1/19/2006

stingRay part 2 .   {K:139399} 1/19/2006
Excellent shooting angle Jeanette giving this an amazing perspective. Incredible details captured; looks absolutely wonderful. I have followed the comments regarding blurry thumbnails and I am not entirely sure why this needs to be. However it is a small penalty to pay for such great improvements to our UF 'club'...All the best sweetie....Ray

Ralf Denguth   {K:3363} 1/19/2006
Jeanette, stunning architecture you've taken! Great angle and composition! Cheers, Ralf

Jeanette Hägglund   {K:59985} 1/19/2006
Thanks Giulio for your time and thoughts about the blurry look of thumbnails. I will test that too.

Jeanette

Femke de Wit   {K:5172} 1/19/2006
Perfect Jeanette! A beautiful building with great perspective, well done, Femke

Dubravko Grakalic   {K:24332} 1/19/2006

Molto surreale questo edificio. Molto bella la fotografia.

Claudia

Ninni Termine   {K:8961} 1/19/2006
No, Jeanette, I doesn't recognize it. I think that it is to the Defense, the style is similar to that skyscrapers, but I don't remember of it.

Ciao
Ninni

Marco D.S.   {K:5604} 1/19/2006
Congrats for this 'surreal' photo: I like so much the way you succeeded in taking the right light and contrast. Well done! Cheers,
Marco

Mohamed Banna   {K:34222} 1/19/2006
a nice angle shows how much the architect makes this marriage between curves and lind lines
and yu show us them within a perfect composition
WELL DONE
love ur architectural EYE ;)

João Tavares   {K:39126} 1/19/2006
Yeh very well done,jeanette.
regards
joão

Don Loseke   {K:32503} 1/20/2006
This does look like a futuristic building. Nice capture. Don.

Kamran Bakhtiari   {K:16225} 1/20/2006
too strong composition, cold and severe !
as always great.

Saeed Al Shamsi   {K:47543} 1/20/2006
Great perspective angle in showing such amazing architecture work, your framing of excellent in showing what you want to show and fit your subject. The background and light of excellent matching elements.
Everyone noticing the effect on the thumbnails its part of the site and I think it’s due to the size limits within the new full page last arrangement and the initial upgrade size.
Saeed

a. gianfranco baccelli   {K:19333} 1/20/2006
Beautiful perspective, it's so dynamic!
...
We are here, we are there (you understand me?)...
And I don't remember where I see your photos... ;)

Jeanette Hägglund   {K:59985} 1/20/2006
Thanks Naftali, i hadn´t seen that - but you are right, a "toothy" look.

Jeanette

Jeanette Hägglund   {K:59985} 1/20/2006
I undertand totally what you mean and also feel exactly what you do sometimes but try ... ;)

Jeanette

Marcus Armani   {K:35759} 1/20/2006
Wow this is stunning, the upward perspective is really really sureal, I love the nice arch of the building reaching to the sky.. excellent..

Larry Fosse   {K:65815} 1/20/2006
Super architecture shot Jeanette...great swopping lines and excellent presentation

Mitchell Miller   {K:3016} 1/20/2006
excellent!! you can really shoot anything well!!

mm

luis pereira   {K:18345} 1/21/2006
Great shot J. The building is very unusual and with all the crosses it give the impression of being a christian church. As far as the thumbnail it looks good from this side. What I see is a slight deffusion and makes it look great.

G P   {K:9768} 1/21/2006
Jeanette I like the curvature angle and expressiveness the only think visual is a bit shallow because the angle point needs space for better exploration.
You know I love Architecture more than any commentaries here and it’s a same for me leave you an ornament type comment to get buy :)
Cheers!
Harry

Mireille Heirendt   {K:7258} 1/21/2006
WOW Jeanette...realizing that I missed quite a few outstanding photos of yours during the whole week...actually I have been very busy.
The geometry here is incredible and so beautifully "framed" by the sky...EXCELLENT again!!
Mireille

Jeanette Hägglund   {K:59985} 1/22/2006
Thanks Harry for your opinion!
My viewpoint is unusual maby and give less possibility for the spectator to explore, but my intention is to "sharpen" the shape of the building and give another kind of view as well a little bstract one as well, if you see what i choosed for captegory´s it´s both architecture and abstract! To show it as it´s done so many times is not nessecary, at least not for me!!!

Jeanette

Melisa Meyers   {K:9541} 1/24/2006
Love the curve to this! I have really enjoyed your architect series! You always see from such unique perspectives!

Thanks for you comments on my photos!

Mark Longo   {K:12757} 1/25/2006
A facinating building shot to maximize the effects of planes, lines, and curves. This is masterful Jeanette! I think that the architect of this building would very much enjoy looking at this shot as I think it must convey a core aspect of the designer's thinking. And the building pictures you have recently posted I think show a great aspect of your photographic style. A favorite.

Mark

Jeanette Hägglund   {K:59985} 1/25/2006
Thankyou Mark! I have a special interest for architecture. Here in Uppsala i have tried what i can with the building we have ... :) But we are going to see a new creation soon and i´m longing for that. Guess who will be shooting!!!

jeanette

v i k t o r h u g o   {K:562} 1/26/2006
Tus fotos si que son impresionantes. Felicidades. Esta en particular me parece imponente. El contraste con el cielo es brutal; la geometria de las formas tambien. Felicidades.

photographie works   {K:289} 3/31/2006
Wonderful perspective ! Now i know what you meant by "Totally in my taste" when you left a comment on one of my photograph !
