About The building to the left is La Grande arche in La Défence. Here i concentrated on the space inbetween those two buildings ... and the sky reflected on the walls.

Now i have prepared the image for webb and it will be interesting to see how the thumbnail look now.

the building on the left looks like is only a mesh... cool refelction, it really carries through.
Hope you solve your thumb questions...

Jeanette Hägglund   {K:59796} 1/20/2006

good shot......

Saeed Al Shamsi   {K:47515} 1/20/2006
Endless idea, I like the use of two architecture elements which perfectly opposite and intersect lines.
Well seen and composed work.

very interesting shot, very good your idea.

Roger Williams   {K:82213} 1/20/2006
La Defence is a wonderful subject... I hope you will visit it many times or at least share many of your photographs. Your style is ideal for extracting gorgeous nuggets from the overall view. Me? I would just take a panorama of the whole thing and that would be it...

Jeanette Hägglund   {K:59796} 1/20/2006
HI Roger, thanks for your comment, but i do´t belive you - i think that you had come up to same idea if you saw it like this :)

Jeanette

nice comP!

Cesare Baggiani   {K:1470} 1/20/2006
It seem that the buildings are transparent. I can see the sky over the windows.... Fantastic vision

Niclas Mäkelä   {K:4879} 1/20/2006
Very cool, especially since you haven't concentrated only on one of the buildings, but used the two of them to create something different.. nice one!

Your eyes are creative and can creat elegant works, always your job is adorable!

Hugo de Wolf   {K:184670} 1/20/2006
Hi Jeanette, A pitty the other one is no longer online... I find this one definitely less strong, as it divides the screen a bit too strong for my taste. Also, the triangle in the top right corner is somewhat distracting. The pastel tones in the sky are awesomethough, and I like the subtle white frames you've been using recently. Works well in this photo (too)...

Cheers,

Hugo

Giulio Rotelli   {K:28375} 1/20/2006
un bellissimo lavoro e mi sembra che tu abbia anche risolto il piccolo problema di rumore che avevi sull'ultimo scatto scaricato...
una bellissima composizione..

Simone Tagliaferri   {K:28180} 1/20/2006
Bella composizione architettonica. complimenti.

Paolo Corradini   {K:50066} 1/20/2006
lovely soft tones an perspective..what do you think about a square format with a crop without the right side?

Danny Brannigan   {K:16126} 1/20/2006
Superb image Jeanette although I think I may trim a wee bit off the right had side- that is if I had seen the sublect in the first place.

Thilo Bayer   {K:50301} 1/20/2006
Hi Jeanette,

awesome fighting of the geometries. maybe it would be an alternative to give the building on the left more focus. just an idea though =)

i can learn now how i can creat an artistic shot

Great, you succeeded in matching a natural delicate landscape with an architecture geometrical picture!
Always brava.

Well seen Jeanette! Gret lines in the buildings, and a beautiful sky! Very cool the way that it is reflected in the side of the buildings! Nice capture!

brian underdown   {K:-1176} 1/21/2006
jeanette what a great eye you have and your ability to get it on camera is excellent.i have only minor critique however it does not take anything away from the view and that is top right hand corner ,cropping out that peice of structure.it does nothing to destroy the impact impact of those reflections and depth you caught.just remove the distraction.please dont be offended .

naftali raz   {K:1723} 1/21/2006
a surface dissolving into sky - nice effect!

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 1/21/2006
Wonderful architectural composition, Jeanette! I like the patterned surfaces, and the clouds reflected on the glass facade, making it all one with the sky! Very nice and subtle colors, pure geometry! Best regards, Ina

Subhash Sen   {K:11061} 1/21/2006
The building on the left looks like a sketch ,nice reflectio, cheers, subhash.

Ahmet Baki Kocaballi   {K:13627} 1/21/2006
Hi Jeanette,

cheers

Yes you are right Brian - thanks for the attachment and suggestion!

Jeanette

Ninni Termine   {K:8961} 1/21/2006
The building to the right, with his convergent and rigid geometric lines, it stops the sight and the eye it looks for to the left space where it can finally see the splendid effect created by the reflection of the sky on the Grand Arche, this it seems completely transparent and the sky is seen through.
Beautiful image, as always.

Ciao
Ninni

This series just gets better Jeanette.

Mark Sherman   {K:15436} 1/22/2006
the building on the right feels like a very mean saw, the building on the left feels almost feminine in contrast to the right. Like how the clouds feel complete the way you angled it.

Steve Aronoff   {K:21276} 1/23/2006
I love the photo, Jeanette. The sky feels like it's bouncing back and forth between the buildings and back to the sky again. It's a shame there's that extraneous structure in the upper right corner, but for composition's sake it's possible that can't be helped.
Steve

Another excellent architectal. It is interesting to notice the different reflective effects created by the different types of exteriors on these two buildings. Obviously the abstract lines of the buildings are interesting as well, but I especially like the lines created by the sky against the building edges. Seen that way, it is an image of three abstract shapes: build/sky/building. You angle/perspective taken for this shot is very well chosen.

As a separate note, I have just seen your current "artist portrait", which is very well done. The style puts me in the mind of many wonderful portraits I have seen of Laurie Anderson, a tremendously gifted multi-media artist. My kudos to yourself or whomever shot that portrait. It is very very well done.

Best regards,
Mark

Gayle's Eclectic Photos   {K:91033} 1/27/2006
Congrats for FP FC!...very good perspective and i like the contrast of soft hues/sky with the hard building/darker colors...very nice reflective light on the building

I still really like this one! Absolutely turns my eyes inside out like an Escher! Fabulous work my friend!

Ann Nida   {K:45230} 2/23/2006
It's like looking through a tunnel to the sky. A beautiful softly coloured sky with lovely pink hues reflecting off both buildings. It's almost like the building on the left is completely see through rather than reflecting the sky as the clouds seem to continue in shape and form. A beautiful image Jeanette with wonderful lines and perspective. Congratulations on the front page FC. Great work.

Cheers from Ann :)

João Tavares   {K:39114} 2/23/2006

Thanks a lot for your comment!

Jeanette

Ann Nida   {K:45230} 2/23/2006
Yes Jeanette...I found this image on the front page in the featured critique section. Our images often pop up there in between change overs of images. Sometimes they are only there for a few minutes but when I see someone I know on the front page even if for short time I try to let them know that's where I saw the image. Sorry you missed that 5 minutes of fame but don't worry.....it didn't go to waste cause I saw it. :)

Cheers from Ann :)

Hi Jeanette,
I like "La Défence", it's an area with a many point of view end ispirations and your vision of architectures is always excellent! I love the balance and fusion between auterity of geometry and colors of nature.
Good work!
