It might be better if you got the teams to invest in an inferior washing powder sweetie:):):) We don't get intense sunlight in pompom land but even here it is a battle to preserve some detail in our whites. I think you have done rather well here. Cracking action with the bails flying in the air, so well done you Rina, my clever girl. Big hug for you and 'see' you soon.....Ray

I don't see any problem with exposure here at all Rina. I am very impressed with the stop action that you have achieved. Especially in the panorama view...the focus is great! This is one that I would be proud of! Kathy

Rina I think it's great. Like Kathy said, in the pano view the focus and detail are even better. I like your exposure here. What software program are you using? Most of them have the ability to add a warm photo filter after the fact. I don't think you need to add anything to a digital camera. This is really interesting...I've never seen this sport before so I have no idea what they are doing, but it looks pretty intense. Nice job! Susie

Excellent action shot, Rina! I love the pano format for sports (can I steal your idea next summer?) - lovely whites, they are fine against the green, great stop-action - I have no idea what they are playing, you guys have strange sports! Those ...? flying in the air are perfectly frozen! Great expressions too! Best regards, Ina

Hahahaha... thank you Ina! They're playing what's called cricket. What you see happening here is called stumping. The bowler, who is not in the image, bowled the ball to the batsman (right), who swung and in the process, moved out of where he is 'safe'. The wicket keeper (left) caught the ball and knocked the bails (those little bits of wood in the air) off the stumps (3 wooden poles that support the bails), before the batsman could get back into his safe area. This resulted in the batsman being 'out'. It's not very often that this happens during the game, which can last an entire day, so I'm pretty pleased I was able to catch this one!
Thanks again and you're welcome to steal my ideas anytime. I'd be flattered!

So not only is a good picture, but good journalism, too! Those bails looked to me like wooden spools, but I didn't see a sewing machine anywhere in the field :)
