About This is the shot I was after when i left the house at 8:15 tonight. Done this section before a few times, but never quite got it right, then I remembered that this straight was very long and ended in a light turn....

With that in mind, I thought I could get the first lamp post to cover the majorty of the other posts, so the main of the lamps would look un-attached to anything, like stars... but the last few posts on the bend would give the game away.

That was the plan anyway.

Beautiful and very artistic! The star bursts around the lights make this image for me.

I really enjoy this picture and how you went for the stars thing. I still think it turned out great.

Hi Ade, Great shot, the curve in the road, although not visible is still very well captured. At least the hint at it is...:) the hazy feel only adds to the photo. I think you captured the idea you had in mind very well, and it does work. Personally, I don't mind the last few posts to be visible, as I believe it only makes the reference to the real world a tad more convincing. Would it be possible to get even closer to the first lamp post? As far as I can see that's the only solution (unless you concider relying on PS an acceptible alternative...:) On the other hand, that would make the post very dominant in this photo, which probably wouldn't be beneficial to the composition, I think.

Cheers,

Hugo

Cheers for that Hugo - it's great to hear how other people percieve a photo that I really enjoyed making and rate very highly. It's out of the ordinary for my recent work, so important to keep experimenting like this for me.

Much appreciuated

I though of making it more abstract by getting rid of the lower parts and the distanty lamp-posts, but in the end decided to leave them in as a pointer to reality - just as you noticed.

Cheers

Ade

Great exposure again Ade, and nicely spotted! I have had a frame like this planned for a while at a certain section of the A500 running through Stoke On Trent but never seem to get around to taking it. Good work my friend.

Very good idea and one of the most creative shots in street (night) photography.using close F-stop is completely helpful for the lamps. I just prefered sharper quality.i have some captures in night, i would glad if you look at them!

It looks really nice!
