About This pic was taken at another Geothermal Valley called-"The Hidden Valley" of Orakei Korako Geyersland and Cave;
Which means "The Place of Adorning".
Scenes from the BBC Natural History Series "Walking with Dinosaurs" were filmed here.
This particular close up is from the Emerald Terrace, which appromiately 20 million litres of hot water per day trickle across the Emerald Terrace into Lake Ohakuri.
This valley too had stunning and unusual variations of Patterns in Nature.
This Valley is 45mins South of Rotorua.

Its tough to be overly enthusiastic about algae and bacteria, but I can appreciate the complex shapes and colors they create. I can also appreciate the biology behind it. Not being familiar with this area it would be neat to see a wider view of the terrain either the Emerald Terrace and/or the geothermal valley. Very neat nature photo.

This is a shot so rich in patterns that I don't know which way to look first. Very impressive!
