Thank you so much, Peta :)
She has dark circles and they are just more apparent some days. And especially now with it being winter...she is a bit pale :(
The thought crossed my mind :) I have messed with dodging them in the past, but never have gotten it to turn out looking 'normal'. Any suggestions??

I dont know if its the 'right way' but I just use a big soft edge brush (say 60) and clone at 66% opacity. Use the lighter skin as the origin. But really no big deal with such gorgeous kids you have!! :)

oh wow, Peta, that looks great! You did that fast, too! I had always tried it with the dodge tool...maybe that's why it didn't look right :) I never thought of the clone tool. THANK YOU so much for the help!!

hehe, now your kids take over and do the photography themselfs. And as we can see they do a great job!
She may grow up too fast but she is as cute as ever!
Regarding the eyes, I thought about that for a moment when I first saw the photo, but then I think they are just perfect the way they are.

You are going to have to hide the camera away sweetie....she wants to follow in Mum's footsteps NOW. Oh my sweet Janet what gorgeous eyes she has, they reach deep down into your soul and tug at the heartstrings. Were she mine I don't think I could deny any requests she made. Yet another wonderful photo to treasure and although she directed the scenario I expect her clever Mum arranged the crop for the final presentation. Well done for a great team effort...will the dynamic duo strike again?? Oh, I hope so sweetie....Very best wishes and a big hug for our young photographer....Ray

She's so gorgeous! My kids love it when I hand them the remote, I usually do it when I'm desperate and they won't give me anything and I'm in a time crunch (like getting a shot for a father's day card). I find it really hard to clone or get rid of anything when it comes to my kids. It's all them, and it's not like a masterpiece I'm trying to sell.

A beautiful portrait Janet! There is such a subtle softness to the colour. Great eyes!
ps That was such a nice job that Peta did to just notch it up another level. She did it just perfectly in this case. But you really have to be careful not to change too much for fear of the image looking unnatural. My friend Fadel gave me a hint when doing this kind of thing. You really have to set the tool on a very low percentage and make very small changes. If done wrong, it can look too false. If done right, It's magic! Andre

A model in training. She really is gorgeous. The camera just loves this little girl no matter who's in control of it. :) As far as lightening under the eyes goes. I doubt if there is a right or wrong way to do anything in any photo manipulation program. Only multiple ways to achieve the same result. Whatever works! Great shot and lovely post.
Cheers - Ann :)
