Ooh I like this, I don't know why, it's just an everyday stop valve but it's interesting - I like that you left the dust on. Nice angle, square crop and colour blue, well spotted!

Excellent dof ... very cool crop and idea!

Mervo,

Thank you very much for your comments! lol! I know what you mean, I like it for some reason, and don't know why. One eye thinks it hurts, and the other makes me think, 'proud blue valve'. So glad you liked it!

best,
-Joel

Thinking outside the box is always good....I like the idea of this shot. CU Glenn

Joel Aron   {K:14920} 3/9/2006
Thanks Glenn!

Ya know, when I started looking through your portfolio, I thought about this shot. You and I have that same eye..macro on something simple with a wacked out crop. I will follow that path as long as i'm alive!

Thanks again for the kind comments my friend!

cheers,
-Joel

I agree with you....we do have a similiar style. I think pretty postcard photos are dull and I am always looking for obsure ways of seeing things. Occassionally I find one that works. Keep up the adventure.

Great work, cool idea, and why not, eh? Here you've made what's likely to be the world's most used but also most untouched household appliance, look like it might be worth a visit! (if only to clean the dust that must be accumulating ;D) Love the "wacked out crop" too, Joel.

Funny, first thing I spotted was the "WOG"...

Nice to see you on the front page, congrats!

Cheers
Rina.

Thank you Rina!

I'm glad you like this! Over the months, it keeps growing on me. Fun also to look back to my mold breaking composition...when I was trying to be cool ;)

Shooting abstract around the house while drinking wine is like playing darts.. you're playing okay for a little while, and then you start shooting dudds when the booze takes over. The booze had clearly taken over when I stuffed the camera and tripod in to the laundry closet for this one. The fun (dart playing) continued when I took the wine with me to Mac for the photoshop session.

Somehow.. the next morning, this looked somewhat okay... i guess :)

wacked out crop is the child of that night.

I still think it looks like "little valve in the big city"

Had no idea I was on the title page! *yikes!* thanks for the heads up! Guess I better start working on my spelling/typing if my comments show up again!

Thanks again for having a look at this one, and the super great comments! ...much appreciated as always!

best,
-Joel
