Good macro, Glenn!
I really like the warm colors of the monarch's wings and of the flower, against of a perfectly blurred cool background! it POP!
just a curiosity: what's the halo on the white marks of the right wing?
Ciao

It is somewhat more prononced in this image do I guess the sharpening tool in photoshop . I maybe should have reduced it some . Thank you for asking I appreciate your thoughts on it Cheers glenn

ehy, Glenn,if u have 3 minutes to spend, try this little experiment on the same picture:
open it in PS-->duplicate background level-->on the duplicated level, go to -->effects-->others-->high pass (a level between 2 to 5 would be enough)-->ok-->then set the layer blending to OVERLAY or SOFT LIGHT-->then adjust the layer opacity level as you prefer....
easier to do than to explain..eheh
this filter, increase the details without affect the quality of the picture, so it could help to avoid halos, smear, noise...
Try it and let me know!
I hope to was been useful!
