| About |
Migrant #13 The most characteristic feature about Buffleheads is a great white patch on the rear of the head. Nearly all of the buffleheads in northern California are migrants or winter visitors. A small and scattered population nests on mountain lakes and reservoirs in the northeastern portion of the state. When I went to Klamath I saw many of these little guys, but they were very elusive. I got this picture at the Oka pond in Los Gatos, CA.
