About B+W of an earlier posting.

Closed Canyon Trail, Big Bend Ranch State Park, Texas.

Small pools of water lay close to the end of this closed slot canyon. As I was walking out I thought a nice wide angle shot would place importance on the little bit of water left in this desert.

Great perspective, I like the hole of water in the foreground and the way it hides in the rocks. Great work!

Chris Boivin   {K:9030} 2/7/2006
Hi Michael, awesome contrast and I really like the perspective. My focus is on the water.
Cheers, Chris

Wow,Perfect composition and angle. skifully shot!

Kiarang Alaei   {K:48552} 2/7/2006
My suggestion for awards of the day!

Michael Kanemoto   {K:22103} 2/7/2006
Kiarang:

Flattered!

Thanks for the suggestion, but I feel this is not worthy of an award. I'd personally choose a Santa Elena canyon shot or what not.

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 2/7/2006
Organic looking puddle and surrounding rocks, I like the focus on the foreground a lot. It actually looks good even by itself, in a square crop. But of course, the canyon adds more contrast and height. Wouldn't almost recognize it from the color version, very different - both are excellent. Best regards, Ina

Michael,
your photo is an adoreable shot in vertical composition/harmony/symmetery/perspective & light. chossing BW with this contrast & reflects enhanced it.
it's indeed a deserve shot for this project(IMHO)

Superior tones and lighting Michael! I agree with Kiarang its definitely worth an award, I'm glad that we have people like Kiarang and others who take the time to dig out beautiful work like this one and nominate it for recognition!

Michael Kanemoto   {K:22103} 2/9/2006
Fadel:

Thanks. You are the king of balancing tones across photographs, so I have to think that this shot is "in the can".
