Excellent series, Carlo! You can really covey the cold and hardship of winter in the city! I love the street perspective and the wet pavement, and the way the people walk through the puddles. This street looks very much like old Bucharest, where I'm from. Even the posters, very similar. Great mood in B & W - exceptional picture! I love the entire series! Best regards, Ina

harika bence..
7+++ bir deger bu efenim.

I like this one a lot too Carlos!
Too bad you couldn't get the owner to move that car and have it replaced with an old cart or something like that. :) The detail in the buildings is beautiful!

carlo

Hi Carlo,

Foremost, I think this is truely a top notch shot, it's got everything it takes. Very impressive photo, and with out doubt a winner....

But as you put it in the Critiquer's Corner, I'll also add a few (subjective) notes. Nitpicking, that is...

I do think the power of this shot could be slightly improved upon if the tonal balance was a bit more spread over the entire image; as it looks on my screen, the top left corner is relatively dark. I think a bit more details and contrasts in that area would enhance the image, without disrupting its tension and atmosphere.

Secondly, I'm curious about the origin of the two dark spots in the pools. I can't quite place them as reflection, but they look a bit too soft to be rocks... Do you know what they are?

Last, but that's something beyond your control, I admit, I think the man in the white coat is redundant, eventhough in it's present state, he doesn't diminish the effect of the photo either. Like I said, with such a great capture, there can be only nitpicking...:)

I'm also curious which camera settings you have used, as well as which steps you carried out in PS to get such a great post processed image.... I'd really appreciate it if you would post the original shot for comparison!

Great stuff!

Cheers,

Hugo
