About One of the events during the grand opening of Hooters Hotel & Casino. This one particular is the celebrity poker event, initially found the speaker on the right to be distracting but after some thought I decided to leave it as I didn't want to crop the lady behind it thus gives a sense of activity overall in the image.

Roland,

What you have taken here reminds me of some of the documentary images I was looking at the other day In a Time Life photo image book.

The book had a portfolio called "Critics of Complacency". Some of the images featured people in situations where they presumably appear to be out for a good time, but they really don't seem to see one another. They are devoid of "real" human connections.

You have captured an image that says so much about the subject. This at first appears to be a fun filled atmosphere.

The real story shows on the faces! Especially the main subject.
The "Hooter's Girl" carries that vacant, non-emotional stare of a "Barbie Doll" or a "Stepford Wife", as she floats around the room.

Photographs can often lie and this may have been only a split second of these people's lives. For all we know, their attitude may have been completely different for the other 99.9% of the time. But, what you have captured here speaks very loudly.

More people should see this and comment on it!!!

Andre
