hi john ,i think your right the composition and DOF youve caught here is excellent ,the technique and exposure is balanced well for what seems a very sunny day could have been easily overexposed but you kept that to a minimum. however the subject the pole is not as powerfull and pleasing to the eye as weve seen in some of your other photos.

i think the strong point of this shot is the quality and technique which carries the picture. please dont see this has a negative comment becus it is not ment to be.
just kind of encouraging you to find a better subject or a deeper landscaped background.
