Hi Davide, I work the colors separately, destaturate some and increase the yellows, greens, and reds, especially to give it a warm look, but it has to be the right picture. These were almost at sunset, and the light was warm to begin with. It works with some, not with all, most are cool colors, but that afternoon I got a good number of landscapes with the warm light. Best regards, Ina

Well presented really fine panoramic vision with great bridge. Leading my eyes to the other riverside. As I said love the fine warm tonality and great colours. Well framing the branches of tree on the two sides. Great solution, well seen and captured! Great work, very well done dear Ina! :) Thanks for share us this mini serie! Hugs!

Ina,
Out of the three you posted on the Grand River - this on is my favorite. I like the way you used the trees for framing and the clouds really add to the river...it almost seems like the clouds are moving along with the river...which creates a unique effect. Great Job!

Ina, I am extremely impressed with your three panoramas of the Grand River. The lighting, colouration and tones are superb giving your composition the look of a painting. In this one I like the framing of the trees on both sides. There is wonderful dymanic tension with the horizontal bridge and the clouds moving in at a diagonal.

Thanks very much Eb, I'm a fan of 19th century Romanticism, and try to get that in pictures, of course sometimes there are cars and other things, but the colors were there, I just enhanced them to look like an oil painting. I'm glad you saw it!

Ina, I am not fluent in art terminology (wish I were) but I can recognize a painting when I see one! There is something about rural southern Ontario that lends itself to 19th century romanticism. I always get that 1812 feeling when I am there for a visit. You were able to capture and bring out the essence. Eb

I started to look at your landscapes with this one and now I am back to it. It is the one that I like the most!!!It is well built, harmonious, calm and nothing is superfluous. I love the trees and specially the willow branches, the sky and the bridge, which is here at its best! Very harmonious design. The bridge pillars have wonderful patterns created by the play of light and shadow. You found a perfect angle and this makes the shot very painterly. Gabriela

One of your best indeed, with magic & perfect exposure and tone balanced. closer F-stop ( and maximum DOF ) i think could be so useful to have better details in the sky. the clouds are strange and moody? did you edit it by PS. or is it natural? thanks for share Ina!

Hi Kiarang, to answer your question about these landscapes and the clouds: everything is naturally there, nothing was added or edited out. The clouds were there in the sky exactly as you see them. I always edit my pictures in PS, cropping, color saturation, contrast, sharpness and hues. I leave my camera in neutral - so all the pictures come out very soft and neutral (washed-out) in color, so then I can apply whatever treatment I see fit. But there are no layers and it's not a composite, nothing cloned or added. The lighting was late afternoon, warm, and of course I enhanced the colors to make it look like an oil painting. Thanks very much for visiting! Best regards, Ina

Hi Ina, All three of these landscapes are really good. I love the colours. I think this one is probably my favourite of the three, even though it might be the most conventional. The clouds are really powerful in the second one. But this one seems more balanced. Andre

Hi Ina, The problem with most people (like myself) telling you that this one is our favourite of the three is that the decision is probaly based on a quick review of the three. In this case most people go with the "safe" and conventional. So you do have to be careful not to take these comments too seriously sometimes. I often find another image of a series will grow on me in time. Andre

Thank very much Sheila :) I took this picture at sunset, the lighting was warm to begin with, and the colors were saturated naturally. I selectively enhanced the warm tones, usually I cut the cold magenta and boost the yellows, cyans and reds, provided these colors are in there in good amounts, which in here they were. Best regards and thanks for asking, Ina
