Very creative! I can hardly look at this...the blur on the sides makes me so dizzy. I love it, though. I can see this accompanying some kind of magazine article. Nice job.

Joel Aron   {K:14920} 2/15/2006
Thanks babi!

that song would go very well with this! ...now I'll have to do a 'train in vain' series ;)

not too many people get what 'lost in a supermarket' is...so glad you get it! Almost as fun as being lost in a 'Target'.

cheers,
-Joel

i don'y think that being lost in a target will be funny as well...

Joel Aron   {K:14920} 2/15/2006
'Target' has more interesting shoppers ;) I'll make it a point to go there this weekend and see what we get. Have you heard of "Costco"? A true, overly red/white/blue American explosion of bulk quantity bargain hunters in a HUGE warehouse.
...but true... nothing is more funny that being lost in a supermarket!

Keven Osborne   {K:572} 2/16/2006
Perfect, controlled and a not overly exaggerated zoom burst. The eye is drawn beyond the figure, taking you through a perspective of our mass-consumerism world! For me, it is slightly under exposed but I imagine this was hand-held and you did a great job at 1/15 shutter, given that the centre of the photo is very sharp indeed!

Joel Aron   {K:14920} 2/16/2006
Keven,

Thank you very much for your comments! I'll agree with you on the exposure, as I did want as much clarity for light as possible. Because of that, I had to aim for a posterized contrast look to make up for the information that wasn't there in the bottom end. i'm looking forward to printing this about 8 feet wide! ...then we'll see how that detail holds up :)

cheers, and thanks again for your honest comments!

-Joel

It is crazy! The zoom happened by accident when I turned to shoot the picture, I was walking away (so as not to get caught ;) ). free zoom, and somehow the focus just nailed the subject. *phew*.

thanks again Roby! Have a good night my friend!

Great execution of a little used technique! Does indeed provide for a different viewing experience.

Joel Aron   {K:14920} 3/30/2006
Thanks Mia!

what's crazy about this, is that I didn't zoom... I was walking away.. and the effect worked!

cheers,
-Joel

Ha. I looked at the pic and though Joel is not above playing with some PS filters. But lo and behold the motion blur is real. Well done. I have not found a suitable reason to use motion blur before. It works here because it does add to the conveyed theme of being lost. Nicely done.

Joel Aron   {K:14920} 4/15/2006
Thank you Ron! :)

cheers my friend!
