I think the first image is so strong it should stand alone. I love it! I'd love to see it cropped square and in black and white. (do you think I'm asking too much?) :)

Janet B   {K:16139} 2/16/2006
Thank you, Pat, and your not asking too much :)
I seem to be in a rut lately and I wasn't sure about this as a collage, either. I do love the first one...have another similiar that maybe I'll try a b&w square crop with and post tomorrow. Having b&w conversion problems lately, too...just losing it here !!! Thanks again! I appreciate it!

Pat Fruen   {K:12073} 2/16/2006
If you're losing it-I want to lose it just like you. :)

David Hofmann   {K:23830} 2/16/2006
I agree with Pat, the left photo is great, the right one doesn't add much. Its cute how the dog licks his face but 3/4 of the shot is the concrete stairs and the door. Not sure if B&W would be better here.

Mort Gage   {K:2733} 2/16/2006
i agree with others...left image is terrific! wonderful expression from dog looking straight at camera. i also like the high-impact colors. i too think left image worthy of standing alone. i do, however, think the collage tells a story and reveals some of the dog's personality you describe above.

how gorgeous Janet!! well done!

Rina     {K:27011} 2/17/2006
You've got the dog trained well too! Wonderful look he's giving us. Love it to pieces... Very well put together as a diptych. Particularly as the horizontal lines and space in the right image nicely compliment(?) the diagonal tilt and tight crop of the left. Will agree with others too and say the first image would work well on its own. But then on the other hand, I'm a bit like you when it comes to a series of images, in that I'd prefer to put them together as a story. Either way works Janet.

Kind of relieved to read that I'm not the only one feeling a bit lost for inspiration. I guess in your case though, it must be even more difficult if you're snowed in. Could be a good opportunity to find your abstract side ;)... maybe walk around the house and see if you can't find some geometric patterns...? :)) Just a suggestion!

Cheers
Rina

Cute shots Janet. Lots of good advice too it sounds like. Don't ya just love this place?
Nice colors too!
Susie~

I love both photos! I prefer the left one in that high-key color, I'm straying away from black and white (for the moment anyway). LOVE her on the steps with the doggy licking her, soooo sweet!

I removed a lot of my portfolio, I was just in one of those moods where everything I had posted bothered me. I also get paranoid with so many people looking at my children and my name is attached, too many creeps out there. I probably just saw a news special that scared me. I get paranoid once in a while, lol! I'm hoping to post some photos of other people I have shoot recently, I've got to get the permission first though.

have a great weekend!

Janet B   {K:16139} 2/20/2006
Thanks for the suggestions, Rina, but you have me confused with someone who has something besides 'crapstract' in their house....oh, and dust :(

Trish McCoy   {K:16519} 2/20/2006
I love this. love the look, colors, and that love between a dog and boy. gorgeous!!!!!! winner shots in my eyes.

karen clarke   {K:18847} 2/26/2006
I LOVE the first image, especially the dog's expression! That one could definitely stand on its own. The second image is very cute also, with the big smile on the boy's face. Would probably choose not to crop off the dog's end. Still, nice work~

Janet B   {K:16139} 3/3/2006
I understand, Lynne, there are certainly enough creeps out there. Hope you are post again soon :)

Ramon Antonio   {K:721} 7/27/2006
Woah...nice pic, J. Girl, you always get the lighting perfect...I'm so jealous of you. =P
