About Mount Bromo and the caldera in which it sits in Java, is without doubt one of the most jaw dropping places I have had the good fortune to visit. Bromo is the smoky grey hole on the left and is still active. The air was astonishingly clear when I arrived at sunrise and the fluted sides of its extinct neighbours were beautifully revealed even through a long lens from several miles away at the caldera rim. A polariser cleaned up the miniscule amount of haze and the long lens compresses the perspective to give an unusual view of this wonderful place. Hi Lius, well of course I have the standard panoramic as well but since everyone that comes to this place takes that shot I saw no point in recreating the standard scene. Maybe I will upload it later on.
