very nice, and it does perform well too.

Congrats with your new bike, Heiko. It's always great when new equipment look like this.

Hope you'll enjoy it!

A great shot of some great equipment, Heiko! I can imagine your anxious to get into the saddle! What kind of bike is it?
Dave.

something about this shot really attracts me,
i like the crop, and the details, very well captured. i just wish you did some post processing to it, it would've boosted the colors a little. here's what i tried out, hope you dont mind :)

Thank you. I really like what you did with the shot. How did you do it?
My intention was to make the picture with a cool, mechanical feeling an I was kind of pleased with the result. But your processing makes the shot work even better for me. Good work.

Hi Dave. Thank you for your comment. It's a Stevens Imperia Bike manufactured in Hamburg with an alloy / carbon frame.

I have occasionally thought of trying to photograph my bike, but each time I decide to give it a go I realise that the cleaning involved would make it a massive task!

Here, with the benefit of a (beautiful!) new bike, you have captured some wonderful detail and a crisp metallic feel.

I'm also interested in the performance of this lens - and this looks just fine to me! Though I see that to get this DOF you've had to use a very slow shutter.

(Just spotted the date on this one. Well, you've been away a while!)

AJ
