About Are the leaves too dominant?

Shot outdoors in afternoon on a covered porch.

Other than unsharp mask, I used PS to dodge the left side of the tulip at about 4% and burn the right side at about the same.

Leaves are fine mary. There is a bit of noise on the bottom of the leaf in the flower and also in the BG. Not that noticeable here but if you print it up at 8x10 it'll show. just hit your despeckle filter once or twice and it should be taken care of. The dodging shows just a wee bit but not critical.

Mary Sue, tulips of all colours are my flower of choice....and this one is lovely.
The leaves look fine to me as well, I like the idea of the right leaf facing outward, also the very faint mirroring of the green tip on the tulip adds a soft touch.
Are you not entering this one?

Wonderful capture, nice work.

Very nice. Well done. I think the leaves are alright.

Mary, I think the leaves here are necessary as they not only add a nice colour but also a differing shape to the soft rounded petals. They have sharper angles and contrast the softer tulip petals. This is a nice photo and the background blur and colour is nice and neutral. I also love the light outline of the green leaves, the highlights.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I looked at this image quite a while before posting it. Harvey, when I tried the despeckle filter, it appeared to blur out the delicate faint veining in the petals. I will print it both ways and see how it looks in the prints. Audrey, I might enter this one, just haven't weeded out what to keep/toss for the portfolio contest. Thanks again for your comments, they really helped me.

I like the nice soft lighting on this one.

The placement in the frame is very nice Mary Sue. I think the leaves are needed as on its own with the light background I think the tulip would get lost. I really like the feel of grain/noise.
