A very interesting use of those side-bars on the horizon and wall in the frame. I don't think I've ever seen anything like it before. I like the effect on this shot. You might not want to do it all the time. But on a series of similar images, why not?

Great capture Romy, I like how you divided the image between foreground to sky, the blue bench really compliments the composition. I agree on Jeanette's comment in regards to adjusting the levels to achieve a punchier white on the wall. Well seen & taken otherwise, regards.

Hola Romy, me encanta la manera de componer la imagen y el título. La paleta de colores preciosa, como la bandera de vuestro pais. Hasta el barco que compensa los pesos de la composición juega con los colores! Fantástica fotografía.
Ese marco me recuerda a los de Gust@vo Sch3v3rin, eso es lo bonito de Usefilm, que entre todos nos hacemos más fuertes, todos aprendemos de todos, como yo ahora mismo al ver tu trabajo.

This is simple and beautiful. I thought I'd commented before but don't see it anywhere. Anyway, as this image is in the CC, I have to say that I really don't like those horizontal lines in the frame. I don't think they add anything to the image. But I do love the shot!

Featured Critique
A very nice composition, Romy. The step down of the wall is great. In the "about" you speak about how warm the water is here compared to further south, but I don't feel the heat. At least on my screen the colors seem muted. Not what I would expect in a hot area. I think enhancing the contrast and brightness would go a long way to bringing about more a feeling of heat while still being true to the title. My own personal taste finds the simplicity of the lines of the wall, bench, horizon, and shadows somewhat abused by the small, rather indistinct boat. I've appended a rough example of what I think would be a nice solution.

Steve - I don't agree at all.
First: adapting a picture without permission IMO is arrogant and shows very little respect for the opinion of the original photographer. I don't think that was your intention, but still...
Second: your adaption is cold. The feeling and the warmth !!! I felt when looking at Romy's photo is gone. The cold blue colors make this photo now empty.
I love the warm colors of Romy and the little boat just gives a bit a life and a human presence to Romy's picture.
