About Per the suggestion of Debasish Ghosh, I have removed the grain, increased the contrast and added a border. I also used PS to increase the blur and add shading around the edges of the image (burn tool). Comments are welcome. Please let me know if you like this one, or the original submission.

Thanks!

Laura

I like this one better. Less grain works here.

The burning worked great too!

this is a wonderful image in b/w , great contrast and details , all of the best my friend .

Laura, my opinion is that all the adjustments you have done have helped to improve the image. I don't like frames but in this case seems a good solution for the indistinct white background.
Better picture, for me.
Ciao.

Giuseppe

Has an out of this world, almost abstract quality. Makes one feel onthe edge of reality

Pretty, pretty good. Now let me look at the original.

Best,
Dave

Reading some of the comments on this photo, I add that I don't agree with some of them. I think this is a very elegant composition. I truly like what you done here. Nothing like b/w.

monika brandt   {K:504} 9/23/2006
really nice picture, I like the B/W in this one, this one I could hand on the wall in my livingroom :-):)

Hector Navarro   {K:149} 4/24/2007
I like this one better, the background on the other is too soft for my taste. I like the order on your composition and the rhythm from bottom to top.
