About Area named as titled, shot during sunset. Quite a challenge taking the shot, getting to this spot requires good balance as evidence by the jagged landscape, a simple mistep can mean either a twisted ankle or severe cuts & bruises to your hands, arms & legs all while carrying pounds of camera gear. Secondly when I found this spot I had to crouch really low to get the desired perspective so my knees endured alot, but here's the result after all that work.

very nice capture and perspective.. textures are wel seen and the comparison between this samll mount of sharp edges with the mountain on the backgroung is a good idea for composition..
great shot!

I missed this place as well *sigh*. Guess I'll have to return to this N.P.
I once saw an awesome pix of this area, I think it's taken from the air. You did good considering the landscape.

It was well worth the effort to capture this striking landscape. The high contrast lighting also presents quite a challenge. Some shadow detail is lost on the JPEG-compressed image but I guess it may be there on an original print.

There are some similar scenes on the volcanic island of Lanzarote which I photographed a year or two ago - you have inspired me to dig them up and print them.

Best wishes, Jonathan
