Right place, right time John! Nice capture. And beautiful sunset. Except....they need to be flying NORTH...winter is almost over! Maybe you can catch up with them and inform them....? )

Excellent silhouettes against that beautiful sky, John! I like way you've got the sun up in the corner, too.
Dave.

I really like the silhouettes of the birds. I dont' know if having the sun bleeding out of the frame works for me. Being the brightest spot in the scene my eye gravitates to it immediately. It's only after a while that I notice the birds. I think the weighting of your subjects in the composition could be better balanced. Beautiful presentation.

It is just perfect
Beautiful view

It's pretty difficult to shoot directly at the sun & have any detail in the picture, although silhouettes show up nicely. The sun of course is way blown out & I think if you had cropped out that sun & just left the geese, the image would be much stronger. As it is, the eye goes right to that blown out yellow blotch on the right.

Alison DuFlon   {K:36493} 3/2/2006
Beautifully captured of these geese with a great composition. It is very dramatic with those rich colors and beautiful clouds. I love the way the sun has that squigly look, giving the feel of the tropics, although we know better. :) Alison

Very nice capture John, another right place, right time. Don.

The geese wanted to be in your beautiful picture, John. The silhouettes are wonderful and the sky colours gorgeous. As always, you have an eye for composing your shots wonderfully.
Mary
