there is too much dark space, and what is the subject or point of this photo? i see that there are two women waiting in front of the light, anymore... maybe its theatre but where is action...
otherwise technique is good and clear b&w photo, shodows are clear, congrats...

Dear GG, I am almost sorry you posted this in "Critiquer's Corner" because, as with so many of your photos, all I can do is stand and admire it enviously. This makes it very hard to right a detailed critique. I can also image the lovely satiny black of a silver print... which would bring those large areas of black to life. I do think this is fairly typical of the "Break all the rules and you can STILL produce a great photo" tradition. And although fully clothed and looking in the opposite direction to the camera, your two young women look highly erotic to me, with their semi-transparent dress...

Giuliano Guarnieri   {K:34466} 3/2/2006
Ciao Efisio,

Ciao

GG

Hi Roger,
thanks for your comment.
I saw the "Critique" box yesterday and I tried this new features :)

I printed it in 40x40cm and it's quite fine also if there are many dar (black!) area.
The dresses effect is very funny because it wasn't visible on the "frontstage" but only from the backstage. I was more focused on the photo so I didn't realized these transparence details during the shot(only when I printed them,... nice surprise ).

Bye

GG

so sensual, i love your work under the spot, i think the head of the girl on the left looks better than the long hair girl, make them other photos ;)

excellent technique with the wonderfull film delta 3200 - I used use it all the time for low light work before I went digital. To improve I this shot would be an incredible achievement. Excellent vision and well followed through.

ciao GG.
Complimenti Giuliano, senza inutili piaggerie.
Salutoni,
marco

a difficult shot. Expousure control is not so easy and u did that brilliantly.
The long shadow gives the shot a different look.
The use of B&w media works wonderfully.
I appreciate u to continue your work in B&W film in this world full of digital.
Thanks a lot for sharing.

Ancora tantissimi complimenti e buona Domenica.
Benedetto.

Hi Giuliano, you are a real B&W lover. I read your story next to your portrait and I recognize me in you - years ago.
Ex-photocoleques of mine do the same: they have an extra camera with film with them on the job for "those special pictures". They develop them and scan the negatives BUT they also process the picture on the computer, not in the darkroom.
Greetings from Amsterdam, John
(I like PICTURES - B&W and also color)
