I like the idea behind this, but I think this would be stronger with a long stem in the image pushing the flower to the upper left quadrant of your photo. This would be a common image by most standards, but I think your lighting would make it exceptional. Great job with the degree of sharpness you've achieved.

Agree. May return to this next weekend. There are multiple flowers coming out of the pot, but I may be able to move them out of the way. it's good to get this feedback and then I can apply it again to get better results.

I also need to hold up a white piece of paper to bounce some light back up to the bottom of the flower, but I only have two hands!

I love the colors & light reflected from such a simple stem.
