About These cats work hard during the day . . . chasing sunbeams and goldfish in the pond. They're best friends. Merlin "silver" and "Narfil" (orange) posed at the 40mm setting.

Robert Patrick   {K:8337} 3/10/2006
Very strong composition strengthens senitmental subject, the thin black frame "holding in" the wild, natural forms.

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:100924} 3/10/2006
Thanks Ace . . . cats are a different kind of animal indeed. The top cat plays with the dogs. The dogs avoid the silver one . . . because they're smart!

Robert:
Thanks for the comment. These guys think they're a lot more wild than they really are!

Ezequiel Lozada   {K:17134} 3/10/2006
I believe that. They must be so hard workers, like my two cats, sleeping all the day and chasing in the garden to relax a little. Meanwhile I work 9 hours in the office to get money to buy more catfood.
He he.
Excellent photo (nice focus) with that fraternal bath.

Annemette Rosenborg Eriksen   {K:55824} 3/10/2006
What wonderful cats you have!!! An the image is just beautiful with lots of expression, great contrast due to the two colours of the cats and a great composition.
Best wishes,
Annemette

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:100924} 3/11/2006
Thanks Ray:
The crop was what I think made this capture too! everything else just seemed to detract from the focus I wanted to present.

Kay McIntire   {K:11787} 3/13/2006
Hi Doyle- thanks for your comments on my piano man! Your portfolio is wonderful to an animal lover like me! I am adding you to my friends list- are all the critters yours? I have a ranch full of critters here in Texas too. Love them all! These kitties are so sweet! Mine do this too- and then break out into a brawl when one nibbles a bit hard!

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:100924} 3/13/2006
Kay: I'm adding you to my list as well . . . (saw the bunny butterfly shot). Yes, my wife and I own all the animals. (Many) Bunnies, hundreds of birds (everything from finches to amazons), cavvies, cats, turtles, lizards, frogs, dogs, one tarantula and anything else my wife adopted since I saw her last earlier this morning. Intitially we were breeding the birds and selling the babies to pet stores. Now we have some non-bird pets too.
Yes, We love the animals.
Regards,
Doyle I

Thanks for the comment. The message comes through quite well - you need not apologize for your English . . . Your English is better than my Italian!

Susie  Peek-Swint   {K:7303} 3/17/2006
Adorable capture Doyle ~ the grey one looks to be in sheer heaven at having his/her ears licked ~ LOL! regards, susie

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:100924} 3/17/2006
As our comic strip Garfield (The cat) would say . . . Show me a cat who's a good mouser and I'll show you a cat with bad breath!
This cat (Merlin) has been pampered since birth....unless you count getting "fixed"!
Thanks for the comment.

Doyle I

Alicja Goździk   {K:3565} 4/3/2006

Laura Miller   {K:456} 4/25/2006
wow i cant stop commenting on your pictures...this one is so cute!!! i love it

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:100924} 4/26/2006
Laura . . . it is so very kind of you to take the time to look through my portfolio and even more time to make comments. It is based on the comments that I receive that I decide which subjects would be of interest to people or where I can improve my skill (with the technical comments that have been so very helpful to me).

Regards,
Doyle I <-----

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:100924} 5/26/2006
Wow Ave . . . maybe they WERE twins, separated as kittens! I know nothing of this one's parentage (so it's possible). . . but how did they get sooooo separated . . . hmmmm . . . and that makes us owner-in-laws! :)
Thanks for the comments!

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Leora Long   {K:11145} 5/29/2006
Super detail, color and DOF, Doyle.

Not to mention so warm and friendly.

Great, Leora

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:100924} 5/29/2006
Thanks Leora . . . they do bring a smile from time to time.

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Koteiba Fayyad   {K:3134} 5/30/2006
absolutely contrast, what’s with Rusty? the fella is more bright than Malcolm x him self !!

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:100924} 5/30/2006
Didn't quite follow this comment Koteiba . . . but I sense it has kind intentions and the lack of understanding is likely my fault. :)

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Koteiba Fayyad   {K:3134} 5/31/2006
It was just a joke about that cat , he is so damn rusty bright. The joke is he is more rusty than Malcolm x ( who was called rusty before Ommat El islam times)

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:100924} 6/7/2006
Thanks for clarifying Koteiba . . . I suspected the lack of understanding was mine all along! I had no idea Malcolm X was called "Rusty" ever.

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Name Surname   {K:3712} 8/24/2006
wow !
I have no words to describe how much I like this pic. Everything seems to be perfect and fine, the same face expressions, the opposite colors and their orthogonal directions.
7+/7 !
Davide

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:100924} 8/24/2006
Thanks so much Davide . . . I didn't even have to pose them . . . not that I would even know how to get this pose . . . LoL! This is just luck and good timing.
:)

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Pankaj Kulkarni   {K:186} 2/3/2007
excellent timing.

Sylvia Marriott   {K:12797} 3/12/2007
Hi Doyle,
I see what you mean, they do have the same sort of look about them. Great shot! I love to watch them groom each other, it doesn't last for long though, one usually does something to pee off the other:)
Sylvia
PS I see in one of your comments that you have cavies, I lost my sweet little Sunny,at the end of last year at the age of almost 7. I do miss her, they are so cute.

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:100924} 3/20/2007
Thanks very much for the comment Pankaj!

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:100924} 3/20/2007
Thanks Sylvia . . . only a few animals remain that we do NOT have . . . Marlyce just loves them. Lizards, turtles, lop-eared bunnies, bunnies with un-lopped ears (LoL!) . . . birds, dogs, cats . . . you name it. Sorry to hear about your cavie but you were right . . . they're very cute!

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~
