Nour El Refai   {K:13778} 3/11/2006
wonderful macro, i don't know if you intentionally focus infront of the fly not on it !
but it gives a wonderful effect

Khaled Mursi Hammoud   {K:52315} 3/11/2006
Hi Nour,
Actually I was focusing on the fly's head but as you know with macro lenses and close-up lenses, the depth of field is so shallow that minimal movement of the fly, the leaflet or even tremor of my hand would change the focus point totally.
Actually I captured several photos for this fly to be able to get this one :0)
Thanx Nour for your concern, take care.
PS, waiting for your posts man :0)
Khaled.

Excellent clarity, tones and certainly composing, very well captured small world drama.

Laura Spell   {K:24080} 3/11/2006
Very interesting macro of the fly! The limited DOF is good, allows me to survey the surroundings of the insect. Colors are good.

Good macro, Khaled, I like the way you just caught the eye's coming into focus! These are pretty tricky lenses to work with!
Dave.

u made a yucky creature look pretty nice.. i like the compo and ur way putting the colofrul part of the head and a piece of the leaf in focus.. its more alive this way.
good job Khaled.

Amna Al Shamsi   {K:20837} 3/11/2006
It is really hard to photograph flies, especially if they are very small! you managed to get sharp details of this fly's head. Well done!

N3ma Allah Hisham   {K:4826} 3/11/2006

ARMANDO ALCÁZAR   {K:42656} 3/11/2006
My dear Khaled, did you used your zomm ?? because the close up without zom dont work it.
Take a look of a macro with my 75-300 plus +2+4 diopters.

Khaled Mursi Hammoud   {K:52315} 3/11/2006
My dear friend Armando,
Actually I used my 105mm Micro Nikon lens... I find a big difference between my photo and yours and it's so apparent.... You were able to capture the fly's head and eyes in a large scale but if you see mine, the fly is small in the image and that was the closest distance I could reach with my 105mm lens.....
May be if I had a 300mm micro lens I would have captured a larger image for the fly and keep my distance at the same time.
Thanx again buddy, take care,
Khaled.

Alison DuFlon   {K:35904} 3/12/2006

Gilberto Santa Rosa   {K:11147} 3/12/2006

stingRay .   {K:136763} 3/12/2006
Stunning result in this macro Khaled and a very brave attempt combining close up lenses with a macro lens. I can never get insects to stay still long enough:):):) Excellent colours and details my friend. Sorry that I am still lagging behind but I can only be comfortable for comparatively short times at the computer. My very best wishes to you as always....Ray
