Hi Brian, that doesn't sound strange at all! It's great to see a piece of PS effort that actually has a deeper thought behind it than "hey! It just looks nice!" The feel and atmosphere you've created is very strong; the dream has become reality. The touch of Magritte is also very much present.
There are a few things that may be subject for a bit more work. Looking at the texture in the field, the pattern seems to become a bit more fuzzy between the rows of men, especially in the middle. That somehow emphasises the symmetrical lay out in the foreground.
As to the mirrored foreground, I think that works well to create the dreamy, surreal feel, yet I think the photo might've been just a wee bit stronger if you'd removed a few elements, breaking the perfect symmetry. It would make the mirrored image less noticeable, and could even create a bit more tension / dynamism within the composition.
The sky is superb, though. It already reduces the in essence static lay-out.
The PS job is impressive, very high image quality, and I find the arrangement of those men very creative, I would never have thought of using the countering curved lines between them yet keeping the symmetry. Great stuff!

hugo thanks for taking the time to comment. i totally agree on the mirrored effect and other points. it was something that i just kept seeing and in the end thats what i found ,feels very strange .personally i know there are areas in the picture that could be perfected however i just wanted to see it from another persons view after peicing it together for the last week.this one hopefully will end on a poster soon along with some others ive done.

Make me think of old "crazy" Russian movies. I remember a director that made movies with short fast cuts, pretty long time before the modern fast tempo cutting in especially music videos. Sorry, but i can´t remember his name.... but it´s from the film history anyway -.- I like the vision you have made here and the clouds looks like snowflakes :)

hi jeanette, firstly how the exhibition go?? ive never seen a russian film so i cant imagine it .has for the clouds in this shot thats a seperate layer taken at 17mm with the horizon erased out.

Brian - You've taken on quite a challenge in bringing a dream to vision. I have tried that with much less success than you seem to have achieved (who can really know?). Like Hugo, I agree that there may be too much symetry here. One feature that is troublesome to me is that the one man is very thin relative to his height, unnaturally so, actually. I would make him a bit broader. And yes, the sky is great. Cheers - John B

.....well done Brian , what is it about? ...is that for the viewer to decide, your creation raises some questions about mankind and the road less travelled perhaps......what I like is your preparedness to work with a shot to produce a story or some deeper/wider meaning, much has been written in this area and I feel a bit nervous even going there but congratulate you on the shot you have made. cheers, david.

hi david , dont be nervous however dont think im some sort of nutcase who has lost his direction!
david it was simply a dream i had over a week ago and all i could see across a field was a bunch men walking and they all looked the same.!
anyway that image stuck in my head for a day or so ,then when i was out with the camera i took a picture of me using a tripod and the timer and walked across / up the field!.i stretched the man vertically in CS2 to add that dream vision feel. there you are best i can explain without someone locking me up in a nut house and throwing away the key.

How's it going Brian, Hope all is well? Great creativity, capture and amazing CS work here, even if this is unfinished. i really like the idea and perspective, the title is also very fitting...
When i look at the picture its like he is lonely and he's running away from a problems or on some kind of mission in life...do you know what i mean? What happens to him in your dream?
