Giuseppe, I'd better not use words - there are no words for this! A 10'''!

Bravo!

Giuseppe Guadagno   {K:33980} 3/19/2006
10 seems too too much Nick! Thanks for the encouregement anyway.
Ciao.

You are right, you get a 9.9 ;-)

But no, why I said 10 is that from my personal experience it is so hard to get a greater dof in such micros, and you did that. And not only this. You turned the disadvantage of the parts out of focus on the right to an advantage by letting them blur softly in a gradient of descending sharpness. At the end they almost dissolve to the background which is black and seems to be the natural continuation of that deep blue. The other pole is the sharply focused middle part, especially the light reflection to the bottom left. And to the left of it we have the fine details of the petals that look like something between satin and velvet.

And a question from a newbie: Did you somehow fix the flower?

Giuseppe Guadagno   {K:33980} 3/19/2006
Thanks Nick. Sorry I don't know what you mean for fixing the flower; only a flower in a pot in the garden and a contortion for shooting.
Have a nice week-end.

Powerfully beautiful, the very rich tones and stunning composing all magnificently captured and presented.

Gorgeous macro Giuseppe, I love the lighting and how it illuminates the wonderful details in the petals, a very nice exposure, beautiful blues and textures. Seems romantic somehow, nice crop! Well done!! Hugs!!

Oh, I meant somthing to hold it in order to keep it in place so that it doesn't move with the wind etc. But anyway, a great shot!

The weekend goes to an end :-( but that means a new week with new photos :-)

Best wishes and keep it up!

Thanks Branimir.
I've seen your portfolio, particular for the theme and the perseverance you have in going on. The street of one's town, the flower ... It's pleasant to have a passion and to be faithfull to it. It gives certainty.
Ciao.

Giuseppe
