Hi Steve, The contrast between the reds and the blues makes this shot very appealing. Also, the relatively low pov creates a nice perspective in this shot.
Two things I wonder about though. First, the lamp in the top right quadrant seems a bit redundant to me, and I don't think it really adds to the image. Even stronger, it's more of a distraction than an addition, as it places the center of attention more towards the left of the image; it creates a feeling there's too much space on the right, which I believe wouldn't have been the case if the lamp was kept out of the composition. Not sure if that is a feasible option, though.
Secondly, The fact that the lower edge of the bridge intersects with the bottom right corner draws a bit too much attention to it. I don't think it's that important a feature, though. Maybe if you had allowed a bit more of the bottom side of the bridge in the composition, it wouldn't have been noticeable, and maybe even an addition to the composition, the dark area seems a bit small compared to the area occupied by the sky. Don't think I would've noticed that if the bridge hadn't intersected with the lower right corner, though. (that's what I meant by drawing attention to it)
Either way, a very appealing photo, and very well captured, preserving the details in the bridge as well as preventing blown out parts in the metal. Great camera control, and a very good shot.
Cheers,
Hugo

Hi Steve, a very nice POV, beautiful contrast of colours and perfect light. I think the only small think It's (as Hugo says) the lamp make a little distraction when you look the picture. My best congratulations for this exxcellent shot. Regards....Walter

Hugo - thank you very much for your comprehensive and very constructive critique! I cloned out the lamp, and it is indeed a much better composition as a result. Also, I re-cropped the photo to leave as much as there was in the original image at lower right. Here is the revised photo - what do you think?
Thanks again,Hugo, and thanks also to my good Usefilm friends Kamran, Joao, and Walter for your kind comments and suggestions!

Hi Steve, this is exactly what i had in mind, and to me, it's a huge improvement. Very interesting to see how much the little details matter in the impact of a photo. I think the extra strip of the bottom side of the bridge does the trick... Thanks for showing!
Just a thought about the presentation: If you increase the canvas size to make room for the drop shadow layer effect with a RGB 243,243,243 grey scale in stead of the current white, the photo would blend in better with the background of Usefilm. See what I mean?
Cheers,
Hugo
