About Not quite as pretty as my first "Dead Daffodil" image.
Again a blurred layer over the original image, then darkened and saturated for effect.

A darkly interesting shot, Andre! Very well done effects.
Dave.

Thanks for the comments Dave,
Dark is definitely the word here.... I know whenever I post a darker image, I stand to lose a few viewers :) Maybe this one could go into the "Anti - Floral" Catagory?

Wonderful B&W tone makes it look more dramatic..nessa

Thanks Nessa,

I was hoping for dramatic, melancholy or forlorn. I fear a lot of people might think just plain dingy. :)

I've been playing around with dead roses Andre, and it's kinda fun! I was thinking that a b/w conversion would probably work well with this subject matter and you've proven this. I guess "anti-floral" would be the correct category for this type of shot. Keep playing! )

Hi Susie,
Yes this can become pretty addicting. Did you see my image "Dead Flowers"? I used B&W on that one with some toning. Also that blur / glow sandich was used on the roses.

I think I prefer my first Dafodill to this image. I've gone very dark on this one and it is probably not to most people's taste. Lots of things to try yet before I give up on these things :)

Here I am Andre, late as usual.
This process is certainly dark my friend but it is full of interest. The effects have left some clearly defined detail in the petals and the crop is nice and bold. Well done to you, keep on experimenting. Very best wishes to you...Ray

Thanks Ray,
I enjoy doing all sorts of mood images with florals or any other subject for that matter. I tried to go in the other direction on my latest.
Andre
