looks so solemn.. unusual mood.. seldom do we see flame that is motionless and with this image, we can observe the different color and its not gradient but seperated by a distinct line like levels. the red glow is very attractive... simple but compound, nice concept!

A great abstract and a perfect macro.

Thanks 130 . . .
Very nice of you to make these comments . . . the abstract image suggests . . . the mind perceives. Your comments really make me feel that this was a worthy abstract to work on. I appreciate it.

Love the colors in this shot - I really like photographing lighters, as well.

I did a couple as well:

It's amazing, how many different colors are in a single flame. Beautiful capture. Thanks also for your comment.

My kinda shot! A little noisy - ISO 800 is probably the cause of that. And the lighter itself is perhaps a little soft: I guess you had to be handholding it to keep the flame going!

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:100221} 3/30/2006
Thanks John . . . Trying new things is a lot of the fun in this field and kind comments such as yours are even more rewarding. I think I just got lucky with this capture. You're right about the 800 ISO causing noise and yes, I was hand-holding it. Thanks for the feedback!
