The first thing I noticed about this was the resemblance to an eye. It is quite an abstract shot, but a pleasing and highly effective one. The lighting is beautiful, the morning light (on a nice day ofcourse) is always the best.

Well composed and presented dear Joggie.

Regards,
Ciprian

Hi Joggie,

Almost as good as ever, a very well exposed and composed photo. The patterns and textures in this photo really make it tick.

The only nitpick I have is that there's no reference to the scale and size of this image; but even whilst typing this, I begin to feel ambiguous about that, as that also creates the tension in this shot, and creates the element of surprise / wondering, if you know what I'm talking about.

Good shot!

Cheers,

Hugo

Thanks Hugo - interesting remark. For scale - the biggest pebble is 1.5 cm in diameter. I thought the info on the salt crystals would be a good lead - requiring a bit of concentration.

Regards
Joggie

I like the composition a lot, Joggie. And the palette and tones are fine as well. For my personal taste I would prefer to the lightness of the pebbles and background come into a little more balance. I think darkening the pebbles somewhat and lightening the background a bit more would accomplish this. I've attached a rough idea of my preference. It is just a preference, for the photo is very nice as it is.
Best,
Steve
