Actually . . . they are being weaned and eating stalk millet now . . . but, like any baby who's being weaned, will still try to go for the tried and true (and security) of the past dietary patterns. Thanks for the comment Meldi . . .

A wonderful shot of these young birds. The detail is superb.
One question though - is this a scanned image? It's just that there appear to be a couple of spots, one on the frame on the left and one between the fingers on the right.

Thanks John . . . appreciate the comment. The image is not scanned but captured with a Nikon D50 DSLR at 60mm and as listed above. Could not see the spot on the frame which was added afterwards (actually, rather than added, the lines are simply a removal of all color and image in a linear fashion), but anything on the hands was there in real life. Probably some of the bird's liquid food drying since they have a tendency to be messy eaters.

Thank you for all your recent in depth comments. I really learned from them, especially that of my "Misery." As you may have noticed, I caught some serious flack about that photo & not necessarily because of its technical details, to the point of being accused of taking advantage of the poor lady. As you noted, I did give her some money, but in order for her not to freeze on me, I took the photo when she wasn't looking directly at me.
