Your new lens is definitely worth the investment you put in purchasing it, dear Mary, but no lens is better than the photographer behind it & in this & your other photos you definitely don't lag behind the lens. I love the colors, the composdition, the black baground & fitting frame you framed the photo in. I considered trading in my new Fuji Finepix S9000, which proved to be a disappointment for a new Samsung 815, with a lens also by Schneider Kreuzach, with a x15 optical zoom, but the internet commentators advised to wait for its next version, so I settled for the Panasonic Lumix FZ 30, which has an antishake mechanism & it's so for the best digital camera I've owned. Fortunately for me my photo-dealer knows me & my "craziness" & I came off cheap...
Thank you for commenting on so many of my photos I can't even count them, while posting only one of yours since I last commented.
As to my "Kissing cousins", it was done on the new camera with the zoom extended to x12 (at least, as the manual sais it can reach x18) & 1/5 of a second. The antishake seems to have worked well. I also obseved the courting & coupling ceremony, in my case of wild doves & took some photos, but they were not good enough to be posted.

great isolation of the plant, very nice colors and contrast, great composition too. The only thing... maybe... the white part seems to be a little bit overexposed. But it's really nice like that too.

Here's joining a long line of people to say what a lovely image you have captured. The shades of shocking pink pops againsts the well chosen black background, the touch of yellow tip and the dark green focus the eyes on this unusual flower - beautiful.
I wonder if the strong pink frame line takes the eye away from this otherwise strong but simple composition - if a frame line is needed perhaps a dark green may work well?
