I can almost feel the rust flake off in my hand - the texture you have captured is incredible. Great lighting, colour and depth of field. The brooding sky in the background only adds to the overall mood of the picture. She will rise again... not likely say the clouds. Super detail and composition.

Great colors, like much the texture & rust of the boat complimented with dramatic sky. Nice one Steve, regards.

Very deceptive point of view since I know this wreck is absolutely enormous! (or maybe I'm just a shorty) Well captured Steve. Love the colour sat here. Really does bring out how she looks in the 'flesh' - so to speak :)

Lucky bugger. An overnighter eh? Next time you get the opportunity, stay a week. You'll need to explore further inland as well... ;)

Cheers
Rina.

I looked up the Petas in UF, Larry. I didn't find an Aussie, but I did find a Kiwi. Thanks.

Thank you, Stace. Personally, I think it would look good with just about any background. Well, maybe not roundworms and graham crackers.

Thanks so much, João. A very different boat than the ones you've introduced us to. This one is not so seaworthy. :>)

Thank you so much, Rina. I think this wreck, at least in its current circumstances, is perhaps the single most photogenic object I've ever seen.
Yeah! I don't know when I'll get back. I sure hope it's sooner than later. We did see quite a bit of the island. I think our guide was taking amphetamines. I really, really want to see more of the mainland, exterior and interior.
Best wishes,
Steve

Wonderful texture and details, especially against that dramatic cloudy sky, Steve! A great capture, and the lighting really adds something to it, with the bright side and darker with the almost iridescent green algae.
Dave.

Steve Aronoff   {K:21276} 4/2/2006
Glad you like it, Dave. I think I really lucked out on the sky.
Steve

Fatemeh Rahimi   {K:13653} 4/3/2006
so tragic. the details are great! also i like the texture and colors on it. this harsh body with those warm colors make a great contrast between the ship and the cool and soft sea and the sky behind them! nicely composed!
well done Steve!

Thanks so much, Fatemeh. Glad you like it.
