Dawn,

I really like the composition of this shot. especially the three holding hands. The lighting has thrown a monky wrench in to the mixture for you though. It appears the shot was a taken on a bright sunny day, with your daughter having light colored clothes on. against the dark shade of the inside of the background. Maybe you should have stopped it down a couple of more stops to compensate for the subject matter and let the background fall where it falls.
That way you could have the detail int your daughter instead of the far background.
Keep 'em Coming!

Later my friend,

Russ

Thank you for your comment Russell. I was very disappointed that this shot didn't turn out better. I tried working with it somewhat in PS, but I wasn't able to do much about my daughter blending in. I really wish this one had turned out better. It would have been a good keepsake.

Dawn,

Excellent shot here, yes your daughter does blend in a bit but the overall feel to the shot makes it work. Great job and keep it up!

Dawn,

Don't give up on this print yet. if you do not have access to a darkroom, find someone who does and experiment with this shot. do a little dodging and burning. you might be suprised with what you get.

Later my friend,

Russ

This must have been a joyful moment for you!

Dawn Chadwick   {K:347} 3/2/2003
Yes, it was in fact a joyful moment. We only get to see our families about once a year. Sometimes not even that. So I really appreciate the time we do get to spend with them.

Dawn this is great! Excellent framing, depth, light and contrast.
