About Often its not our inherent beauty that have an impact on the world but rather the shadows we cast - and most of the time they are of lesser beauty.

The shadows of a Brunsvigia inflorescence. These spectacular balls of red flowers (30 - 40 cm in diameter) often occurs after a fire as in this case along the west coast of South Africa. The intircate shadows cast by these plants on the exposed sand caught my eye. I tried to concentrate on the shadow rather than the flowers but dedided to i9nclude some flowers to create a reference point. Uncropped image with the absolute minimum manipulation of contrast, sharpness and brightness.

The shadow is nice Joggie but I confess to you that I were very glad to look at the whole plant. I have never seen this gorgeous flower before. But it's only a wish of a flowers lover.
The work ... as usual.
Ciao.

Giuseppe

Well done, that shadow not only leaves its own impression on the mind but the sand color/burnt look makes it look so mysterious or imposing. Much more interesting than a bright colored sand.

Best,
Dave

Very creative idea and nicely rendered! The debris on the ground adds a third element which adds some confusion - but, that inevitably comes with a natural photograph!
