Great colours and composition, but it's a shame there's not a little bit more contrast between the animal and the path

Thanks, Dave. But maybe it's a shame there isn't less contrast. After all, the dog and the path are one.
Regards,
Steve

Good shot, Steve! I love the deep colors and the path that leads the eye. The dog is just a bonus!

I do love this peaceful countryside walk with it's winding path and I think a gorgeous golden retriever enjoy the day's scents. A beautiful memory for me Steve as this looks so much like the view I would have of our dear Bonnie as she forged ahead in our walks together. We lost her very nearly two years ago and will never forget her. Although we are enjoying the company of our neighbour's young retriever, we will never have another one in our lives. There was only the one Bonnie and she was a wonderful friend. Well done Steve, a nice simplistic composition with great charm. My very best wishes.....Ray

Excellent composition, Steve! The shot would have been a nice one of the path and shadows, but with the dog there is a lot more interest.
Dave.

Qué caminito!!! me gustaría recorrerlo junto al perrito... estupendas luces y sombras... se nota un lugar húmedo , los troncos están tapizados de musgo. Felicitaciones por la toma.., excelente perspectiva!!!

I hope he made it! It's so sad to see dogs that may be lost. What a pretty shot and pretty pathway though. I love Whatcom Falls Park. You've made me want to go visit soon!
Susie

Thanks, Kathy. That path is really great in different lights.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Ray. But please don't say you'll never have another. I thought that when our last two dogs before Rosie died within a year of each other. But Rosie has been a delight and a blessing. You can give your love to a new dog without losing the memory or love you had for Bonnie. I'm glad you like the photo.
Kind regards,
Steve

I think so, too, Dave. Anyway, it was a sweet dog.

Gracias, Alicia. Pobrecitos.
lo mejor,
Steve

This is a wonderful scene, I like the look of the lone pup making his way down the path, very nice dof, excellent.

I actually think the contrast here is good - really good. But then I've always liked darks to be, well... dark :) Great comp with the lead in and the title tells the story well. Nice work Steve.

Mary Brown   {K:67788} 5/4/2006
This reminds me of the path back into our bush and our daughter's dog who we get to dog sit every once in a while. He is sort of cute, but he sure can be a lot of work. Besides all that, I like the light and shadows here. They really help create a calm feeling. The dog actually makes me feel like I am walking down this path just behind him. Great shot.

Happy I could oblige with the dark darks, Rina. I'm glad you like the photo.

Well, I hope you have a dog of your own, Mary. They're good for the soul, even if they are "a lot of work" (as our current dog, Rosie, is). I'm glad you like the photo.
Steve
