The composition and the expression is good. Only i want to say regarding background. Why u did not choose a simple background or control the dof so theat it looks more blurred.

Although your sister is sweet and delrubba, but somehow your image doesn't have a 'soul'!

You could take her to a better place without those crazy background.

Hope to see more improved images from your cute sister.

By the way what is her name?

A lovely portrait, Nathan. Interesting how the subject looks like she might have been the model for the figure on her t-shirt.
I have a couple of thoughts on how you might improve the photo. I think you could bring out the highlights of the models face a very small amount to bring out the dimensionality of her face just a little. You could consider cropping the photo at the waist, reducing the forward thrust of her upper body a little. I think you might reshoot and increase the depth of field just a small amount to bring her right arm more in focus.
You've obviously had a lot of practice at portraiture (and I haven't), and this is really a fine portrait. So you can take my suggestions with a grain of salt.
Well done!
Steve

Hi Nathan... Actually when doing portraiture, there is a great deal of personal taste. IMHO, I believe if you take this shot of your sister, crop to the bottom of her hair @~, you remove the distraction of her designed shirt, and place the emphasis on her face/eyes. Additionally, I might consider desaturating into a B&W world. Some photos really pop when visualized B&W. Also, next time try stopping down the aperture a bit to kill the background, and compress a bit more with @~ 135mm lens or equvalent digital...Obviously, this is just my Opinion. Nice work though, keep it up!

cheers,

Bill
