About First unearthed by a farmer in 1974, these are some of the 秦始皇兵马俑 (Qin Shi Huang Bing Ma Yong), or soldiers of the Qin Emperor. More commonly known as the Terra-Cotta Warriors. One of the more important archaeological finds of the 20th century.

Displayed in the same pit they were uncovered in, many of these ancient sentinels are well-preserved, and they are all unique. No two look the same. While showing the area of Pit #1 in more scale, this shot only represents about 5% of the area of the pit.

Light was low, and I had to hand-hold the camera.
