About Stopped him trying to eat my hair again! He never seems to want to eat these daffodils. Strange, just one bunch in the whole field- totally undisturbed. He is afraid to even go near them.

Leave glass dreams

Leaving Station

Silence never leaves

Within Leaves

Nothing left

Tears leave

Leave the past

Into my body

Eye leave you

Leave ripples of thought

You may well be right Terry!

Joggie van Staden   {K:41275} 4/18/2006
Beautiful colours and texture on his hairs Mary. A different but effective composition, drawing the eye towards the horse;s eye and the daffodils. Great work.
Joggie

vanessa shakesheff   {K:65070} 4/18/2006

Mary Slade   {K:40918} 4/19/2006
Thanks Nessa- you've given me a new name to tease that horse with- "scardie cat"- brill!

Mary Slade   {K:40918} 4/19/2006
Thanks Joggie- glad you liked this funny old horse!

Mark Sherman   {K:15520} 4/19/2006
I feel like I am looking at a side profile of an old man. The grayness, the setting of the eye. The yellow daffodils, almost feel the way the eye and flower are set up a sense of his youth. Keep on wondering if he thinks the flower's are pretty.

Stefan Ulrich Fischer   {K:1148} 4/19/2006
Your horse pictures make me really curious to meet one day that sweet one. I just have very short hair :) BTW: He has wonderful hair. Great shot.

Stefan

Mary Slade   {K:40918} 4/19/2006
Thanks Mark- There is something about the horses up the road that draws me to them! See what you mean about this image. Bit sad. But always gets me laughing when he starts on my hair! So funny one daff in the whole field- be good to think he likes them.

Mary Slade   {K:40918} 4/19/2006
Thanks Stefan- you'd be alright with short hair! Trouble is mine is a bit longer- good horse wash though!

aLi Naghizadeh   {K:19457} 4/19/2006
In your pictures it looks as if this malicious guy is a nice and shy old horse, so do you tease him or it's just the sweet scent of your hear that makes him wanna eat your hear!!! :-)

Nice shot Mary I love the composition here. It's truely great. nice details and exposure.. Good DOF..Well done..

Oh.. and again... I love the composition here..Well done..

My best regards,
aLi

Mary Slade   {K:40918} 4/19/2006
Thanks aLi- as if I'd tease him! No..I'm very attached to the horses really- as long as they have that bit of life!

Dave Stacey   {K:120491} 4/20/2006
I like the crop, Mary, and you've got a great perspective here with the tilted horizon! You must have a great shampoo for him to want your hair so much!
Dave.

Terry Lacey   {K:8947} 4/20/2006
I've been told (by SQirl) that Daffodils are extremely poisonous. To Males, anyways. :) I guess horses aren't so dumb.

Trish McCoy   {K:16519} 4/20/2006
interesting perspective here; very nice.

stingRay part 2 .   {K:148553} 4/20/2006
Bless him.....there he is appreciating the beauty of flowers in his realm, stepping delicately around them, perhaps a quick sniff when there's no-one around only to be branded a scardie-cat:):)
Seriously Mary, you have captured some excellent details in this horse's face. I love the angle of your shot putting a tilt on the background. I love the fringe on his head, not unlike my own, and I love too the bold crop which has increased the composition's impact for me. Well done to you my dear. My very best wishes to you as always.....Ray

Mary Slade   {K:40918} 4/20/2006
Thanks Trish- glad you liked the funny old horsey!

Mary Slade   {K:40918} 4/20/2006
Thanks Terry- that explains why the daffs are still there!

Mary Slade   {K:40918} 4/20/2006
Thanks Dave. Did make me giggle- that's all I need to do- change shampoos!

Mary Slade   {K:40918} 4/20/2006
Thanks Ray- and you are on "scardie-cat's" side! He'll be pleased when I tell him! You do realise everytime I look at his fringe now, I'll imagine you look like that! They are great fun to snap those horses- can't resist it as they make me laugh. Now I just have to try and get them to pose a bit differently!

Terry Lacey   {K:8947} 4/20/2006
"Thanks Terry- that explains why the daffs are still there!"

And why the Horse is still there. Maybe you should change the Title (or his name) to "Dances With Daffodils". But then you'd have to make sure he's gelded. Otherwise all the other Horses would laugh at him.

Love the detail that comes out on these horses. I can only imagine riding around in that field in the background!! It would be wonderful.

Mary Slade   {K:40918} 4/23/2006
Thanks Elizabeth- Everytime I'm up the field and a horse gallops by, I'll think it might be you now!

Anna Arca   {K:360} 4/27/2006
