About Magnolia from a walk...

I feel I cheated on this though - it's a crop down from the full frame image.

Beautiful Michael! The juwel is protected by white, soft small cushions. Very simple and very pleasant.
Cheers.

Howdy Michael!

Hmmm...cheated..... nah...i dont think so! Honestly, you could have gone square with this... what do you think? go in even tigher, and square it up around the core? It's so amazing looking, and rich in detail, that seeing so much of the blown out petals almost upstages the core.

*very* wonderful dof! that 50mm w/ macro worked very well! great amount of natural light!

good job!

cheers,
-joel

Beautiful and sensual!

I must say your bio-pic is cool... i see that you have done so we think you have extra long hair. Good work

Jeanette nailed it when she described this as sensual - exactly the word I would use to describe it. It is so intimate, secret, delicate, that I feel like I should avert my gaze. The creaminess of the petals contrasted with the sharp center...wow.

Cropping to get an image isn't cheating. It is amazing sometimes how we discover the essential part of an image by removing all the rest. Try it again with as a full macro and see if you can achieve something similar.
